Pretty big precedent if they consider someone who played in five games as not having had an opportunity to play.

It seems the answer is that he doesn’t qualify because he wasn’t the victim of loss of opportunity for two or more years
    From https://247sports.com/college/north-carolina-state/Board/103770/Contents/Please-Read-Redshirts-Medical-Redshirts-and-6th-Years-53648593/

    It comes from rule 30.2

A waiver of the five-year period of eligibility is designed to provide a student-athlete with the opportunity to participate in four seasons of intercollegiate competition within a five-year period. This waiver may be granted, based upon objective evidence, for reasons that are beyond the control of the student athlete or the institution, which deprive the student-athlete of the opportunity to participate for more than one season in his/her sport within the five-year period.”
The 30% rule applies to scheduled games for redshirts so it doesn’t factor, as he already used his redshirt year, and if he hadn’t he wouldn’t qualify anyway as five games are in excess of 30% of the scheduled games. I’m assuming his redshirt freshman year wasn’t beyond his and the teams control.

Weber making the list is a head scratcher: “Defensively, the Wildcats lose six First Team All-Big Sky players”. I would think they have to fall off defensively due to that,
So they’re a top ten pick, even with the acknowledgement “Jake Constantine is back at quarterback after an up-and-down season in his first year as a starter.” Kind of a reach.
  • Phil Steele - All-American List
Pretty hard for Moe to get these awards when at start of season he is not as a featured guy in his own teams public relations, and splits a lot of time with other players and hence doesn’t rack up the high defensive statistics. It’s not right but it’s predictable.

Courts should punish convicted criminals schools should punish coaches who bring criminals into the community.
I don’t know that schools should assume that anyone arrested is guilty. Leave it to the courts.
  • Big Sky Exodous and Conference Realignments???
I don’t think Sac wants to be in the same conference with Davis. They were clear on that when they left the far western conference. They felt they had to get away and their AD said that at the time. For a while when they had scholarships and Davis didn’t they could compete but now they’ve lost that advantage. If they follow us somewhere they will continue to suffer by comparison.

Well the point is that we’ll be a veteran offense this time around. Hopefully Cal won’t have a five star freshman receiver this time. That guy was uncontainable.

Wright was a starter as a senior at Cardinal Newman. Back up as a junior.

Lacy was the backup to the guy who went to Tenessee

    I don’t think we
need more defensive players generally, we need specifically the 280+ lb hand on turf kind of lineman. That’s the difference between our D and say Eastern Washington’s or NIUs. Not to say we don’t have any prospects on our team but we don’t have many

Often there is some reason players are not snatched up by the FBS teams. Being on a losing team might be one. Magdalena missed his senior season which would also cause someone to drop. I think this is a great class, just wish we had a NG/DT type player too.

Impressive resumes. Reading this made me think that the high school coach that never had his team punt had a good idea. Figueroa. had three 93+ yard punt returns for TDs and Mouisset had six blocked punts.

It’s curious that we don’t have an offer to a defensive tackle. We lost Cloud to graduation. We’ve got tons of linebacker/defensive ends as linebackers and weak side defensive ends are similar physical body types.

Unless I’m mistaken all our QBs are 6’ to 6’2” with most being 6’ , so if he’s truly 5’11”, big deal no big deal.

What is the objective evidence that he is the most athletic? Not doubting it but what is the evidence?

whoever takes over at QBs will likely be more mobile than Maier. Let’s let the QBs battle to determine the successor
  • Football Stadium Expansion
Wow, we identified the hot stadium fix. That was easy. A lot easier for us to fix the hot stadium than for Eastern Washington to fix their cold one,

Does anyone remember perhaps 10 ft long spider parachutes drifting through the stadium lights?
Maybe that’s still a common valley occurrence?
