I don’t think many people grasp the shared significance of those three ships as examples of US industrial production in WW2.
I wonder how many college age people even know liberty ships were built in Sausalito and Richmond.

That’s a good tour but I think there is more history with the Hornet in Alameda. An older ship that say action in WW2.

Game Notes for SD show Nixon and Crawford back.
I wish they’d proof read these things. They cut and pasted Rodgers weight from last years depth chart. His roster weight is 313, not the 285 listed in depth chart. It’s easy to visually see which one is correct.

Here is an article from a Vacaville publication, that discusses some items about the team, like Colton Lamson demotion and resurgence as the right tackle, and also revisits the issue of Hansen’s suspension. An example of why that targeting rule slanders the players in cases where their is no attempt to injure or excessive force, as was the case for Hansen.

Hansen’s take is right, he can see the point in the open field but not between the tackles. It’s also inconsistent in my view to praise players for getting a hat on the ball, but suspend them for a game for gettin a hat on a player. I doubt many of those hats on the ball miss the player entirely.
  • How to watch games 9/11 Aggies and poly
A one man broadcast! Is that a regular thing or A COVID protocol?
  • FCS Polls Week 1
Maybe they’re right. 12 is not a bad spot for us. I wouldn’t rank us ahead of Weber or Montana State until we beat them, so that kind of limits where we place.
  • FCS Polls Week 1
it looks like these guys don’t give any extra credit to wins over FBS teams. Montana has most impressive win by far.
How many more votes did we get under our alias, Cal-Davis?
  • Week 2: UC Davis @ University of San Diego
I think this game will give us an indication of our offensive philosophy. Tulsa uses a 3-3-5 as their base defense and that might have contributed to how persistent we were in attempting to run the ball. Against a peer opponent, not playing an umbrella defense, and now with more confidence in the QB, what mix of plays will we see? I guess more fifty fifty.

It was weird but also classy in a way that the TV broadcast didn’t talk about the suspensions much.
  • Biggest Aggie upsets
In 2005 to 2006 era UCD and Cal Poly were more than equal to Montana and Montana State. Then we both got lost in the wilderness.
  • Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
Right. We had Hansen miss first half due to targeting call against Eastern. We were without two slot backs. one who was our leading receiver this spring.
Tulsa wasn’t hit by a surprise because it was their administration that suspended them. So they had time to prepare to play a half or a full game without those guys.
However it did help equalize the depth, and I’m sure cost them some cohesion.
  • Biggest Aggie upsets
I had to look it up. 1986 UOP Tigers won over Minnesota the week before in front of 50 000 people 24-20.
Lost to the Aggies in front of 15,000 fans 45-41
  • Biggest Aggie upsets
The 2010 San Jose State game maybe. I think they shouldn’t have been favored in 2018.
UOP, the first win. I think that UOP was coming off a road win against Minnesota.
  • FCS Polls Week 1
The Tulsa Oklahoma State game will be an interesting comparison for ranking UCD vs Missouri State.
  • FCS Polls Week 1
They aren’t ranking by how teams played this year, it seems like yesterday we played Weber and lost
  • FCS Polls Week 1
One has to think they knew who they were going to suspend and compensated for it, but I heard somewhere they were playing with three week side linebackers to start the game. That and new corners this year.
Even so, probably the best defense we will play. Not the best offense we’ll play this year but the most physical. I don’t think anyone has better running backs.
  • FCS Polls Week 1
We’ve got a good schedule this year. All winnable games but some opportunities to get the always loses to ranked teams monkey off our back.
We’ve already defeated the toughest team on our schedule, and if we play consistently we should end with a good record.
  • FCS Polls Week 1
What is the criteria? Are thes polls supposed to reflect accomplishments to date, or a forward looking projection of where these teams will finish, or something else?
If it’s accomplishments to date we should be right after Montana. If it’s projecting how teams will do when or if they play, most won’t pick us ahead of Weber or Eastern because we lost to them a couple of months ago. So best we could reasonably expect is to be above Montana State.
Polls are relatively meaningless after one game
  • Former Sac State QB Greg Knapp Critically Injured in a Bike Accident
I think whoever hits a cyclist is likely to be a kid driving too fast, someone distracted by their phone, someone with a vehicle with bad suspension or tires or someone unaware that they may encounter a cyclist or someone under the influence. Lack of driver training also contributes. I think in rural areas you may have more drug abuse, worse maintained vehicles, people unused to encountering cyclist and not informed about the idea of sharing the road. I don’t think it’s a conservative or liberal issue. I admire your guts for biking on the two lane roads.
