Do you think Maggie the Aggie has received any pointers in fitting her hat so it stays on at a gallop? Maybe Lan Larson could provide advice. Might be the hair though.

would have been nice. They were going to Brown until the coach left.

Did you ever come across any indication we were interested in the Hatten brothers? Kind of right up our alley. Good enough to get into an Ivy, and in Arizona, an area we have been successful recruiting.

    Sounds like a bad idea
I like former players or coaches on the broadcast. Usually they dumb down their commentary so it’s pointless but there is always a chance that they’ll make a cogent observation.

But they make too big a deal out of the fumble on 4th and 6. The fumble didn’t cost them more than a yard. Not really a turnover, other than a turnover on downs

Right . On that pass interference call on the screen pass the game broadcast team, particularly the play by play guy seemed to be focusing on whether the block occurred behind the line is scrimmage; that’s beside the issue. The line of scrimmage relevance relates to whether the pass crossed the line of scrimmage. If it does then the offensive pass interference rule applies. The receiving team can’t impede defenders from defending the pass, same whether behind the line of scrimmage or not. The defender knew it was illegal immediately because he pointed at the offensive player who interfered.

In the game this spring the only defensive starter they had out due to COVID was a safety.
Gilliam got 146 yards on 26 carries. So they’re front seven didn’t dominate us last time.

They had three offensive linemen out but their fans think the offensive line along with the secondary are again the weakest areas of the team.

They have a 273 pound all big sky fullback/TE that they apparently use on defense to a limited degree. Has made one big TFL but it was against Simon Frazier. Scored on a reception and run against us this spring.

When I watched the Weber game again you can see the defense stepped up in the late third quarter. Announcers had an interesting observation about Weber’s that their last three drives averaged just 16 yards and ended with punts as opposed to long drives earlier in the game.
And conversely our last four drives went 69, 63, 23 and 56 yards.

Bottom line is that based on all 2021 performances only Cal Poly appears at this point to not to be a threat. Even Northern Colorado beat Northern Arizona.

The Idaho fans talking about our schedule were looking forward, they feel our schedule to this point was the toughest in the conference, they have a lot of respect for Weber.
They have little respect for the teams we face before EWU They don’t know about Idaho due to schedule

i may have missed it but I don’t think we have had people express that Hastings should start over a healthy HR. I think some have made the observation, with some evidence, that HRs accuracy was not at its usual level as the game progressed. My personal opinion is that It wasn’t just hitting his head on the turf that caused whatever physical symptoms he experienced, but the combined result of a lot of hits he took in the game. Just a bit earlier he was knocked out of bounds in a way you would expect to cause whiplash. I even think that had he been fresher his head wouldn’t have hit the turf on that dive. I think he was trying 100% with an empty tank.

    I’m sure not his decision.
On the second consecutive long pass to I think it was Harrell along the sideline near the end zone the defender actually grabbed the receiver by the front of his jersey. Their defenders pushed their luck on the pass interference calls all game and then their fans and announcers moan when it’s called. If your always walking that line it’s going to get called sometime.

I think there is no way there will be an indication who will play. I don’t even think there will be an indication who is practicing.

I think HR got beat up in that game, but played his heart out. We need to be little more conservative with his running, he only weighs 170lbs, he can’t use Trent Tompkins as a role model
I agree about TT, it was cool that they had him in for first series of the third quarter and the last play of the third quarter. They might have been giving HR a little more rest in addition to half time. Kind of like the warriors used to do with Curry, adjacent to the quarter break.

    I’ll be the devils advocate.
They have the same record this year as we would likely have if we played their schedule.
They see that we were outgained by Weber and were lucky to win.
They see that we gave up 27 points to a team that was averaging 5
They see that fortuitous turnovers led to our win over Tulsa
They see that just like them we were 5-7 in 2019, and while our 3-2 was better than their 2-4 they have excuses, like playing Eastern the second time with no quarterback available.
They see they were competitive in the spring game.

One very impressive thing about the Aggie offense is the way we finished the Tulsa and Weber games where we had to string together first downs to either end the game or put us ahead. Those were clutch drives against good defenses. It looked like we wore them down.
