Hawk always seems real high on Miles. He praises his audibles and defensive reads. I do remember hearing early in the season that he was dealing with some “issues” that was affecting his play. I have no idea whether it was injuries or something else. But even these announcers said the same thing i did earlier, he just doesn’t look sharp. Especially in the red zone. That last endzone pass wasn’t even close. If he could scramble it would be a game changer.
Well, even on the practice squad he’s going to be making between 12 - 20 K per week. I wonder if the Canadian league has ever been on his list? I’m not sure what his major was, but at least he’s got a good education to fall back on.
I wonder if that last metric, sacks allowed, is related to the fact that Hastings rolls out and doesn’t stay in the pocket, and also that we don’t throw deep.
Watching MSU - SLAC, that QB mobility for both of those teams, just adds so much to the offense. Is this something that the QB coach can teach? It seems Miles would rather toss the ball out of bounds rather than turn it up field when the opportunity is there.
NAU looks tough, especially playing them at home. They lost to SLAC by 1 point, knock off the Griz, and handle Weber. We’re going to need all our horses for this game as well as the rest of the games going down the stretch.
Looks like Blue and I are holding down the fort tonight. I thought MSU should have centered the ball and spiked it before that last FG attempt. But both teams look impressive.
