I thought that they might start looking for new options for HC, but apparently they are giving Sears another chance.CA Forever

Which is good for us. As much as i like destroying them, some of the best games were the nail biters. Sorry to be off topic.

Finding a QB (QBs) and a RB (RBs) are key ...movielover

Hawk said something about having speed at first, then getting size to be able to run up the gut as the program matures. One thing i'm cofident about - we are not going to see "up the middle" play after play, stop after stop.

On another note, the suc board seems high on their recruits. Threr's been a bit more activity over there.

Daniel Whelan, our new freshman punter, kicked something like a 72 yard field goal in practice, not O'Rourke.CA Forever

Hawk spoke about him at the reception. They are really excited about him. Gosh, I hope we all don't have our hopes too high. But I am confident that we are not going to get out coached this coming year. I was planning on spending October in Montana. I might have to work my schedule around home games :).

Did you guys catch the NLI sent in from Italy?movielover

Hawk commented on it last night. As Dr. Mike said, the energy in the room was infectious. And there is a recent video of Hawk imploring fans to fill up the stadium.

only that they do not plan to run offensive schemes that everyone else is, and they plan to give defensive coordinators "fits."

And btw, i think we are going to see multiple formations with the wildcat and fly inside to 10.

Partials plus they were able to provide grant money to needy recruits to make up the difference, so some of the money did not come out of the scholarship kitty. Very exciting evening tonight with the chancellor in attendance. I really enjoyed visiting with Hawk and Mark Speckman. Both are down to earth and excited to be here. Tremendous energy. Go Ags!

Anybody going to the football preview reception Wednesday night?

"Join UC Davis Head Football Coach Dan Hawkins as he previews the 2017 Aggie season and recruiting class."

I plan to attend. This is an inaugural event. Should be interesting.

Last minute was exciting. Got to love college bball!
  • UC Davis Impact on Washington Coach Chris Petersen
My late father in law was the chief of police at a major university in Socal. He knew most of the football players well, unfortunately for the wrong reasons. The majority of them did not graduate, but received a certificate of attendance. I wonder what the graduation rate is for bama players.

"Also, while perusing the UC Davis Athletics webpages, I couldn't help but notice a conspicuous absence of diversity among athletic administrators. "

From my angle, while i see great strides in diversity amoungst admins across campus, let's bring in the best talent without worrying whether we need to check the box for an irishman, hispanic, african-american, or any other demographic group. And the same goes for our student athletes.

Wow, that kid has speed and the moves.

I wonder what the stats look like on the forum, this year compared to last during this time of year, in terms of total posts and new posters. The anticipation of how games will be managed with the talent and that opening kick off has me excited, it appears I'm not alone. Go Ags

And beyond that, he's going to have some high profile coaching colleauges on the field with him. If he was kicking field goals when we're down by 3 TDs, or running up the middle play after play when its being stopped repeatedly, there's going to be some discussion. Hawk does not accept mediocre performance. I dont think he will be befuddled :).
