  • Week 2: UC Davis @ University of San Diego
Toreros jump into the fire again next week, visiting Montana State Bobcats. For years they would hang mainly in their weak conference then go to the playoffs by virtue of being conference champions. This year appears to be their toughest schedule that i recall.
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis

I watched part of the Dixie-Weber game. The Dixie QB must be 7’ but rock solid. He is a beast when he turns it up field. He drags guys with him and runs over some. Their receivers are capable. Apparently he was at BYU and transferred over.

At the moment, the weatherman is calling for an 83 high for Saturday. Perfect for a night game. I believe having the game in the evening will really help student presence. The freshman run onto the field is always fun to watch. Hooefully the band (uh) will be in full force. Looking forward to the team aggie gathering, Aggie Football is back!

  • Week 2: UC Davis @ University of San Diego
I’m surprised we’re not getting yards on the ground and that SD is moving the ball on us. But its 16-0 :).
  • Week 2: UC Davis @ University of San Diego
I notice most of the news coverage i see on the Toreros, especially after a loss, likes to hammer home the fact that they are non scholarship. I wonder if there are other “perks” their players get to offeset tuition, or are they really “non-scholarship?”

I watched their game with poly. The stream is lousy, but at least its something.

  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis

This is what Rocko said in a team aggie email:

“ For football season ticket holders, we are planning for a return to full crowds at UC Davis Health Stadium starting on September 18th vs. Dixie State (7 p.m.). Our department and main campus have partnered to have the game a featured part of Orientation Week and we are expecting over 6,000 students for our home opener. As a result, we will have limited single game tickets available, so please let your friends know they should plan to buy tickets in the next few days before the remaining tickets are gone! ”

I’ve always liked Harrel. He has good hands, size, and speed.
  • How to watch games 9/11 Aggies and poly

I used that to watch the SD-Poly game. Its lousy, but at least you can see the action.
  • Former Sac State QB Greg Knapp Critically Injured in a Bike Accident
Like any other group, you’ve got courteous drivers and rude on both sides. I was coming out of Mendicino once in my motorhome and had a bike in front of me taking the lane. He refused to use the turnouts - I assume bikes are supposed to use them as “slower traffic.” By the time i got around him there was an army of vehicles waiting to pass.

I love riding my bike on country roads but most don’t have a bike lane so i choose not to. Just got frightened from too many vehicles passing me so close i could feel the wind from the vehicle. There’s a guy i see who commutes from Davis to Woodland on road 99 daily. He has a stick that protrudes from his bike towards the lane with a small flag on it. I assume it’s 3’. I guess that’s his way of getting the space. And its really not much space for vehicles passing you at +50 mph faster than he is traveling.

I think we’re going to run right over them. That last game down there was a shocker. After their comeback, time was running out and their guy coughed the ball up right at the goal line. They didn’t have technology for a review. It was about as close of a ref call as you could get. Had they scored, we would have lost. The margs were flowing in Old Towne after that :). Darn sorry I’ll be missing this one. That darn virus! Mike, you and the Mrs can have a marg for us and we’ll see you in the tent the following week.
  • Biggest Aggie upsets
There were a few times that Sac was rated way higher than us and we knocked them off. As I recall one time we bumped them out of the playoffs
