Sac Bee this morning said Sac pushed for the friday game to beat out the weather on saturday. Not sure how far in advance they would have had to do that if its true. Either way, a rain free game seems to play into Incarnate Word’s hand more so than Sac’s.

But on a bigger scope, our student base these days has a large contingent of international students. Football and basketball may not have been part of their culture. Educating the students about these sports regarding how fun it is to attend and when do you cheer, when do you make noise, and when should you be quiet. How about recognizing a group of students who are attending their first football game? Give them a free shirt to wear and recognize them during the game.

I really don’t think moving commencement to the Golden 1 will hurt Davis businesses. The students are still living in and around Davis. Mom and dad will arrive a few days before graduation, take their kids shopping, and enjoy Davis restaurants. Davis restaurants are packed during graduation. I expect them to remain that way with a Golden 1 ceremony, as well as the hotels.

Some how slac always pulls off the close games. I thought Richmond was going to take them.

Well, it got exciting in the last minute, but it didn’t need to be. Uop seemed to control the offensive boards and they nailed their FTs. I think Les needs to bring the band into FT practice. But there were times when the house was dead silent and we were still missing them. Painful to watch.

Rain predicted for Sacramento Saturday. Richmond looks to be balanced on offense, averaging 426 yards per game and only 4 picks all season.

Marsh asked him about that. He just said he talked to them at the half about “not playing the score board” but they did. But he was very complimentary regarding getting the job done in OT.
