I don’t want to get paranoid, but can we hang on to Ambagsheer? He had a lot of interest and he is a beast. Now only a verbal commit so I think he could change his mind.

Just an observation. There are probably are not a lot of UC Davis alums in Hi, but there are some significant ones. I am distantly related to one of the big ranching families on Kauai. This family has sent most if not all of their boys to Davis; their girls mostly went to either Oxford or Cambridge. Most recently to my knowledge it was a Greenwell grand daughter that came to Davis by the name of Katy Dollar a few years back. A very impressive gal. Hey, they could be in the stands tonight? Short Inter island flight- no problemo. Go Ags!

Well, I hope we get them both.

Wow. These are very big guys. 310-320 range. Mermea seems very astute and acts like an Aggie. Schasa is probably bigger, but no interview or size on record that I can see. So, I dont know how we are now getting these guys now. I hope the Tucker episode wont effect this. We will see.

I think we have been very lucky over the past few seasons in avoiding injuries; certainly season ending injuries have been zero. But they are a fact of life and the rule of averages may now be coming to haunt us. Also, we have been on a very long winning run with the twins and Morgan and that cannot go on forever. So I view this as a rebuilding year. But i love to see the gals win every time and I’ll be rooting for them tonight.

I’m in my 70’s and just had meniscus surgery 3 months ago and I am 100% fine now. It is a very minor outpatient arthroscopic procedure that takes about 30 minutes. Great signing and he will be a great RB for us. Big and fast. No worries on that injury.
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
Chidera Uzo Diribe seems a very good hire at DL. We will see and hope. . .
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
So as I see it, there are five other defensive coaches still on staff: Huppert, Eisenstadt, Brown, Brady, and Hicks. Do they go as well? Aggiebro. . . ?
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
Aggiebro- no ruffled feathers here. You just have presented some very startling news which is somewhat hard to absorb. Apparently you do have good sources. Tucker is leaving, so you have some good cred here. Keep on it!
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
Still, to pin all of these worse numbers on the coaching staff is problematical. Could equally be personnel deficiencies or harder schedule which no one would argue were not a factor in the last season. We will see. Tucker has been with Hawk forever so still a big surprise.
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
“This last year was an eyeopener. We got out coached in a lot of games”? To my knowledge this is the first time this issue has come up. No player, coach, commentator, or sports writer has even suggested this was a problem this year. Loss of Doss, injuries, ineligible player yes! Coaching NO! Also if Tucker left voluntarily how is this evidence that he was a poor coach? Aggiebrother, with all due respect, allegations like this need to be supported with facts or be better left unsaid IMHO.
  • MBB: Aggies (7-11, 1-1) at CSUN (7-12,1-1) 3 pm Saturday, January 18th
Which is where I am now: flu. . . . Not bad but close!
  • MBB: Aggies (7-11, 1-1) at CSUN (7-12,1-1) 3 pm Saturday, January 18th
This was a good game to watch after the fact so that you can concentrate on details. And i did that with Diane and others. I think Diane is an outlier in the BWC. He is so overwhelmingly more physically gifted than any other Mid Major big that I am aware of and certainly i n the BWC. But for the commentators to say this man is NBA material at this point I do not agree. He is big and long, but he is also not disciplined, perhaps poorly coached and pouty to boot. No charm there. He is no Chima IMHO. But the ESPN guys got it right when they commented that the UC Davis Frosh players, Pepper, Manjon, etc. were the most impressive players on the court today. Good game for the Ags away!! Is Fuller injured?
  • MBB: Aggies (7-11, 1-1) at CSUN (7-12,1-1) 3 pm Saturday, January 18th
Had to miss this one. Anyway to get the rep[lay of the game?
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
Which probably explains why Hawk was most excited about landing that 330 pound nose tackle out of Vallejo. I do not believe we have ever has such a large player who is also quick and very good.
  • WBB: Nina looks to be out for the season
I hope she gets the waiver, but its not really clear if she can get it. Obviously its a season ending injury and its only the first half of the sean (two of the requirements) but she also must not have played in moe than 30% of the games this season or 3 games whichever is more. The last requirement is a very close call as far as I can see, as she has played in a lot of games this year. I certainly hopes that she qualifies and comes back next year.
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
I must agree with DrMike. Tucker and Hawk go way way back. Not like Hawk to toss old friends under the bus. The “UC Davis source” sounds vague to me. We will seee. I think Tuckers done a good job.
  • MBB: UC Riverside (10-6, 0-0) at UCD (6-10, 0-0) 7 pm Thursday 1/09
Bad day in Black Rock. Both teams off their game big time. I think things will get better or I hope they will!!
  • Lighting up Dobbins and WSB
No doubt this is why AD Blue is “on this” now. UCD cant afford to be the last one standing without lights.
  • MBB: Holy Names (4-7) at UCD (5-10) 7 pm Jan 3rd Free Admission
IMHO its by design. Most Midwest and East schools need a presence on the West Coast for, among other reasons, recruiting and I don't just mean athletics. Recruiting students. Many Midwest and Eastern universities are suffering from declining enrollment. Not the UCs and California has a very big population and many very good kids cant get into a UC. They are ripe for out of state recruitment. Why does Harvard schedule games in SD? Recruitment and presence. So, I think Les has the “Band of Brothers” philosophy and travels games with all that adversity tends to bond the team into a cohesive unit of friends.Others have said that here, but I just agree with that. Plus, very poor student attendance for the end of Fall Quarter is a given. Again IMHO.. . . No insider info.
