  • WBB 1 pm Saturday: Aggies (8-0) @ St Mary's (5-2)
I really wanted to see this game but could not. The two best ranked terms on the coast! Apparently it was not close. What i see not reported or commented on is that the Aggies actually do better on the road than at home. And than speaks a lot about the teams coaching and aggressive attitude on the road. That said, i hope the bee does no stories on our great woman Aggies. No jinxes

How about a double of big juco DL! We need that now. Are there any out there?
  • Death of the enterprise? Sac bee?
I do not get any print papers anymore. I will agree that the bee is a fairly decent newspaper for the sac area. The enterprise will always be good for davis and yolo. The issues I have with the bee is that it is actually VERY biased against UC Davis. We can mince words about sports coverage as I posted as good versus bad or none, but the unfortunate truth is the sac bee is not happy with UC Davis and is in no way going to report favorably on this campus. How do i know this? I had an unexpected e-mail exchange with one of the editors of the bee last year regarding the katehi affair. Regarding UC Davis, this editor stated in summery: “we have absolutely no interest in promoting or even to engage in positive reporting on UC Davis. That is its job. However, we will continue to act as a “watchdog” over UC Davis as we see fit to do. This is the bees philosophy. Compare this to the SF Chronicle which reports on all the Bay Area universities with unabashed pride, including sports: cal, Stanford, st Mary’s, USF, SJS, and even CS Eastbay and UC Santa Cruz. It has links to the websites of the athletic programs as well. It’s coverage of the game tomorrow with st Mary’s covers more facts on the Aggie woman’s team than has ever been seen in the bee. Why is the bee doing this? I invite those smarter than me to respond. Methinks its downright stupid!
  • MBB 7:30 pm Wed: Pacific (4-3) @ the Aggies (5-2) 2nd game of a DH
Les hit it on the head. Good teams find a way to win when they don’t play well.
  • WBB 5 pm Wed: San Francisco (3-4) @ the Aggies (7-0) 1st game of a DH
St Mary’s will be a test. Gael ANZAC girls will be tough to handle. Agree Hall and Bessolo are becoming excellent off the bench. No let up when they come in.
  • MBB 7:30 pm Wed: Pacific (4-3) @ the Aggies (5-2) 2nd game of a DH
Great win! I hope Rachel is OK. I think she got into the game again, but I’m worried.
  • Men's and Women's Basketball Coaches Show Announced
Got it on lap top. Still a little sketchy but OK. Love the gals.
  • WBB 5 pm Wed: San Francisco (3-4) @ the Aggies (7-0) 1st game of a DH
Frankly, I am glad. Ags Need a bit of chip on the shoulder attitude at this point so as not to let up.
  • WBB 5 pm Wed: San Francisco (3-4) @ the Aggies (7-0) 1st game of a DH
Wow. 6 out 11 on the squad foreign players! Should be a good physical match up for the Ags.
  • Men’s RPI is 22 in the nation
I think that we have a very new weapon in Shorts. We have not had an effective slasher driver in D1 times. This adds a dimension that cannot be overstated at this point. Chima knows it will only make him better and he gave a big shout out to Shorts about that. Great times for aggie BB; men and woman both of course.
  • MBB 12 noon Saturday: Aggies (4-2) @ Washington State (6-0)
Still think it weird that slac is left out. Were they asked? Did they ask?
  • MBB 12 noon Saturday: Aggies (4-2) @ Washington State (6-0)
Cal just lost to St. Mary’s who lost wash st. So we’ve are doing ok. Maybe with Chima les can break into the Australian recruiting market. The aussies play a very good physical game of basketball.
  • MBB 12 noon Saturday: Aggies (4-2) @ Washington State (6-0)
Tj shorts was just amazing. We have not had a point like this in decades. Changes the whole dimension on how we are defended.
  • Men's Water Polo Seeks to Return to the NCAA Tournament
Pacific with 7 foreign players. Ditto cal. Us 2. Not good.
  • WBB 7 pm Thursday Causeway Battle: Sac State (1-5) @ the Aggies (6-0)
Keeping everything in perspective, cal woman’s BB (#24) just beat Seattle at home 87-67 which SFChron called a “blowout.” Ags beat Seattle 79-53 away-no news. Absolutely minimal coverage of this outstanding team by bee, chronicle DE or anyone for that matter. For once I wish Stanford was on the schedule because I think we would beat them this year and get some media attention. With this rant I feel much better.
  • CSN: Post: #1Will Cal and UCLA ever let UC Davis move to FBS?
The last time I looked an FCS school had to average 15,000 fans for two years to even qualify for FBS status. Our stadium does not even have that capacity much less the attendance. Next there’s the scholarship money issue: 22 more schlarships for FBS. Next there’s the TIX issues- woman’s sports expenditures will have to equal the men’s sclarships increase. Next there’s the operational expenses issue: at least 4-5 million dollars in new coaches, travel, equipment, etc. etc. . . I believe only Liberty was able to do this recently and they fill their 19,000+ stadium every game. So, Cal UCLA are the least of the worries. CSN just a lot of blah, blah, blah for its readers and no helpful insight at all.
  • WBB 7 pm Thursday Causeway Battle: Sac State (1-5) @ the Aggies (6-0)
Yes the hornets were very energized for this one. Ags not so much but good enough. I thought some calls against the ag were -/- but who cares at this point. The best news for me is that dani is back and strong. Also very impressed with Kourtney a lot of minutes out there under pressure an she excelled. Cierra and Nina very good in their roles. Also, do not try and press the Ags they are way too good for that stuff. Good game.
