  • Big Sky Team Statistics 2013-2017
Speaking of PCAA I plan on watching Utah State vs BYU tonight. I saw the 1982 game in Logan when I was a grad student at Utah State and the Aggies beat BYU and Steve Young in the snow. The campus went wild. A fellow teammate on the UCD baseball team coached baseball as a club sport there at USU. I guess the older one gets the more one reminisces. But I am looking forward towards an Aggie victory tomorrow at UNC.

Yah, I saw the 78 game as I was in the band-uh. Morowski lit them up with over 300 yards passing. I too miss UOP and their neat little earthen bowl stadium (capacity about 30,000). Our high school went there for band day and I remember seeing Dan Pastorini and Santa Clara beating UOP circa 1972. I also recall a shoot out with San Jose State when Steve Deberg was qbing SJSU. To bad most of the PCAA schools have bit the dust.

OK. That was a big fail. Forgot that "open" is only open within the institution, and there is a login. I'll figure out another way to share these files.
  • Week 5: BIg Sky

    ISU NAU defense optional game.
Montana 24 Poly 7 second quarter. I predict Poly will hold Montana to less than 70.

I watched only a little of the Idaho State game, but they do have a couple levels of good running backs.
  • Week 5: BIg Sky
i signed up for the first month free. It’s only 4.95/ mo. So I may not cancel till end of football season.

ISU 7 NAU O. I like ISU at home in this one.
  • Week 5: BIg Sky
UND 30 UNC 7 late 3rd. UND in total control.
  • Week 5: BIg Sky
I know this is not big sky but if you have espn+ you might want to tune into NDSU-SDSU. So. Dakota St up 7-0 in first. These may be the best 2 teams in 1AA
  • Bob Dunning: It's Time for the Aggies to Move Up to FBS

...and maybe even Texas-El Paso.” Well at least Dunning still has his sense of humor. I once sent in some cash to get the Enterprise sent to Logan UT - where I was going to grad school - to follow the Ags many moons ago and I received the paper accompanied with a refund from Dumning saying “Utah money not accepted in California”
  • Week 4: Idaho @ UC Davis
that is a must do. I checked that box off about 6 years ago when they played Southern Cal. Our niece was in the USC marching band so wife and I met up with my brother and his family. Even though my brother and fam. were wearing USC swag, the Norte Dame fans were as nice as could be. The ND band plays the entire halftime show music on the steps of the architecture building prior to game time so folks not going to the game can hear them. They have quite the piccolo section for their Irish jig type numbers. Visited the basilica while there. We sat in the end zone opposite touchdown Jesus but the view was still good. The catch is that hotels in South Bend are booked months out or if you can find a room it’s for a ridiculous price. We stayed in Chicago and took a rental car. Went to the USC rally in downtown Chicago Friday night prior to game. It was in a hotel ballroom and the entire USC band marched in and played. Anyway a weekend that I won’t forget.
  • Week 4: Idaho @ UC Davis
Michigan marching band has always been excellent. Fun to watch and listen to Ohio State too with their high-stepping. Don’t know if Ohio State is still all brass. I’d also like to see a game in Madison. Midwest bands and football seem to have the best/longest traditions.
  • Week 4: Idaho @ UC Davis

I’d really like to see a game in Missoula some day. A colleague of mine said a friend of his said it was the beast atmosphere he had seen even over big ACC or other big-time venues. I don’t doubt the questionable sportsmanship you saw. I have never liked Hauck and I think he was at the helm with all of those issues and coverups they have had in the past (they were the 1AA equivalent to Tennessee).

This is probably the best chance for the Ags to pull out a win in Missoula . They came close with Denham and company as I recall.

Way back in the day we (Banduh) went to All away games both football and basketball but of course most all games were in CA and many in NorCal. Of course that was the late 70’s. We did not play Montana then.
  • Week 4: Big Sky
If my accounting is correct, NAU, Weber, SUU, and Montana State All have different starting QBs now than in week 1 whether due to injury or other reason.

I would say EWU is the favorite now with Ags right in there. I think Weber is a bit over-rated. SUU is a pretty dang good team without a win yet. I think any big sky team could still beat any other save for Cal Poly, Portland and maybe Northern Colorado. EWU game was a beat-down. You know things are bad for Poly when the highlights consist of 3 plays, each with 3 re-plays to create any footage. I do not think Idaho looked very good. Man was their big QB slow. Game was pretty much decided by end of first quarter. I really see much more overall team speed this year from Ags, and so many offensive weapons that it will make it tough on their big sky competition.
  • Week 4: Big Sky
Big win for ISU and big sky over UND after UND beat Sam Houston last week.
  • Week 4: Idaho @ UC Davis
I’d love to hear a succinct Herm Edwards response to this tome. Maybe something like “You play the game to win!” Rinse and repeat.
  • Week 3: Big Sky
yah, Montana State lost their QB too. But, I don’t think Cookus is quite the QB that he was projected to be. Getting thwacked by Mo. State that badly is problematic even without first string QB. Will be interesting to see how things play out - this is the big sky and anything could happen. In my mind the Ags are clearly the most improved team this year.
  • Week 3: Big Sky
Southern Utah offensive line is very good. So. Utah did relatively well against Arizona, but the big difference was the advantage in team speed that Arizona had that So. Utah defense was unable to contain. So. Utah is a pretty decent 0-3 team - I think they are better than Weber- time will tell. Eastern Washington’s offense showed well agains Wassu but had same problem on D as So. Utah. NAU hasn’t recovered since playoff shellacking by USD (UTEP is bad) so I don’t see them having any playoff potential this year.
  • Week 4: Idaho @ UC Davis
Any news on Harrel? And I don’t recall seeing Vaughn after first quarter at Stanford. I remember him dropping a pass, and then don’t recall anything. He made some big plays against USD.
  • Week 3: Big Sky
Real shocker to me was Weber over South Dakota. Sounds like USD had some early guffaws. I know Utah has a pretty good defense, but watching the Weber-Utah game Weber looked pretty bad. Something like 67 yards total offense for the entire game. I think Weber has switched QBs. It was pretty obvious they missed cantwell from last year.
