Am I the only guy who can’t stop thinking that Jon Kasper (guy on right) is in the direct ancestral line of Fester of the Addams family?

I watched a bit of that game live. San Diego did not look as good as they have the past few years - Presbyterian has been down for years so maybe hard to tell. They are joining the pioneer conference next year I think. Talk about a shore to shore conference.

    Slostang,

I noticed that the football field had been over seeded with annual eye to make it look nice for spring football. I hope it doesn’t mess up the Bermuda too much for fall. I asked a colleague at the irrigation center there about the “rugged look” of the bermudagrass field in 2019 and he said there had been water restrictions in place on campus. I have to give you guys kudos for keeping a natural grass field. I am sure it is easier on player’s joints and I think it just looks better - but then I am pretty old school.

that is good news. Gilliam just adds another dimension to the offense. He is an excellent receiver added to his running shiftiness. I think he just gives more confidence to the QB as an outlet, pass protector, etc.

Watched the Jacksonville State Austin Peay game. JSU looked real bad. 12 penalties and 4 turnovers in the first half. Two offsides in successive plays by same guy. Awful QB play. Incredibly stupid and sloppy playing. Hard to believe they still have a decent record and are ranked as high as they are. I think Ohio valley must be a weak league.

Watched some is the San Diego game. They do not look to have as good of personnel as the past few years.

yah I know. Dr. Mike is right the poly players will still have to make progress towards degree. The subjunctive mode “would” in context of available players the remainder of spring sounds like a scenario in which all seniors pull out until fall. I suspect that with a second recruiting year under Baldwin’s belt many of those seniors won’t be getting the playing time they think.

The MVFC leaders will play 7 games. Will 5 games with 1 loss be enough for either the Ags or EWU to go as a non-automatic qualifier? MVFC is going to have a stronger argument now relatively. South land projects to 6 games this spring. Would the Ags try to line up a replacement game? How about inviting Montana to sunny ca. (It’s not too cold Bobby) and kicking their butts on 4/16? Oh well - a thought at least.

I suspect it’s not liking blowouts. Illinois State did the same thing claiming injuries (not Covid)- but I guarantee you if they had more wins they wouldn’t have done it. It just seems to me that there are general league commitments as it can impact other teams in terms of sample size for playoff considerations. Also, there is a message sent -at least subliminally .....when the going gets tough ........alternate ending. I think more respect is due those teams who just said they weren’t in from the get go - allowing for schedule adjustments, etc.
  • FCS Cinderella - Missouri State atop MVFC
correct. Don’t know how the fall games are factored. I am guessing they are discounted to an extent or fully if the team plays a “full” spring schedule. I have watched their games. Their defense is very good. Offense has been sporadic but improving. Scott Struck (QB at Idaho state last year) has taken over at QB and is improving each week. I just don’t think 4 Missouri Valley teams should get into the playoffs, but there is still a bias towards that league. I think that South Dakota state will end up being the best team. Their loss against UND was an aberration- my guess is that SDSU, NDSU and UND will all be selected. The southland conference will be griping for multiple teams and will likely get at least 2 (Sam Houston and Nichols). My guess is that big sky will get 2 as Weber State has only Idaho State left as a test, and either the Ags or EWU will go depending on who wins this Saturday. EWU will not lose again to Idaho and we all know about cal polys woes. BTW- the highly touted Weber QB transfer from Middle tennessee did not look that good against NAU.

Dunning says Gilliam has an injured toe

Last series Gilliam was in for the poly game there was no apparent injury. He was walking the sideline in the fourth quarter that game. Maybe turf toe that became apparent later or maybe injured during practice last week?
  • Week 4: Idaho state at UC Davis
I think having Gilliam out with his pass catching ability on top of running showed. He has been the target of outlet passes, and wheel routes.
  • Week 4: Idaho state at UC Davis
they are going to need to pass more on first down. Hope Gilliam is back they are going to need him.
  • Week 4: Idaho state at UC Davis
Man. A gut check game and good that they have a diversity of athletes. Sort of feel sorry for ISU.

    You’ve got to be kidding.

Hey pass on first down howd have thunk

other linebacker blitzed and angle was off. Just a good play by Qb. He is either awful or very good.
