I want due diligence done in terms of hiring the next coach, but now that the December signing date has become the main signing date we need to get it done ASAP. I would hope that Rocko has been on top of this and that we get someone in place in the next day or so.

Well I'm hoping that we get a new HC in ASAP to help save the recruiting class we have put together and to start looking through the portal and JUCO guys to fill things out. We gotta get the right guy, but we gotta get it done quickly.

There are certainly more aspects to coaching than just wins and losses, but I mean... His record was 12-33 as our HC. In most any profession if you underperform for long enough in some of your duties you're gonna lose your job.

Gould seemed like a nice guy, but these guys all know that getting results is part of the job.

I think Dan probably had the class to let the team know his decision to resign before this news dropped today so players entering the portal were probably already in the works. A HC leaving is a big deal to these kids, especially if it's the one to recruit them. I think we are going to see more transfer announcements before this all plays out... not that there aren't transfers every year, but I think the rate will be higher than normal.

I think it benefits the Aggies that Hawkins isn't leaving for another coaching job and in fact is staying on as some sort of advisory role. Hopefully that will keep what we have as a recruiting class on board and limit portal losses.

I mean, I'm sure he's no longer going to be paid HC salary, but I'm guessing he'll be paid something.

Press release from the Aggies. Dan says he's stepping down as HC, but is staying on as an advisor role of sorts. That would be a strange thing to do if the next HC wasn't already deep into the works.

He hasn't been hired yet, but he had some fun offensive schemes while here.

Well with Dan stepping down I wouldn't be surprised to see more enter. We'll also have to see what this does to our recruiting class with the first signing date less than a month away.

Wow didn't see that coming at all

from what I can see he just re-tweeted Kyle Hill's commitment to Davis. It looks like at one point in time he was committed to Minot State, but his profile now says College of the Desert. The odd thing is that he shows up on neither of their rosters.

Drake almost had the Bison today... Another 15 minutes and they surely would have turned it around.

In all seriousness though it is frustrating that the Pioneer gets an auto bid when they are so clearly not at a competitive level with the rest of the playoff teams.

We recruited WR to a much larger extent last year when compared to this year so hopefully we get some guys from that group that pan out as contributors going forward.

With the season over I hope the coaching staff is starting to get out on the recruiting trail once again especially since the early signing period (which has become the main signing period) starts in just about a month!
