I agree with you on this one. Our talent is improving, but we have A LOT of work to do before we really turn the corner. I think Gould and staff had some roadblocks along the way, but that doesn't mean that the record they accumulated was acceptable, it was time for a new direction. I have faith in Dr. Blue to find a coach that meets his standards and is ready to lead this program into a new era of success.

I would have said Dan Hawkins probably would have had a shot at the job, but he just took an offensive coordinator position at FIU. Not saying he would be my first choice, just that he pops up in my head as a potential candidate who meets the standards Dr. Blue described.

I agree about needing to move quickly in this process. Hiring the coach is only part of the situation. Once hired they then have to hire coordinators, assistants, positional coaches, ect, then get acclimated to the area, and finally try to salvage this recruiting season. Gould and company got an early start this last year, but there is plenty of work that needs to be done. Just because we need to move quickly doesn't mean we have room to be careless this time around. Dr. Blue seems like he knows what he wants to do though, that guy has a vision.

I'm really starting to like Dr. Blue. The guy just seems to "get it" when it comes to how to move a program forward. Let's hope he can back up his talk with results.

That's the problem with starting over from square one. We will likely have some guys defect too. Hopefully we can hold onto upcoming talents like Keelan Doss and Josh Kelley.
