    Chubba commits to Arizona

Just another example of what has become of college football. 3 high level players of a team that made it to the quarterfinals of the playoffs looking for a new place to play.

Couple of posts of official visits from this weekend. 3 star RB Carter Vargas has de-committed from Nevada and was on campus.

I agree. The combination of being able to transfer an unlimited number of times along with the big bucks of NIL has sent college football down a path I don't care for. You need to have more strict regulations on at least one of those two things otherwise it's just free game to collect the biggest check you can every season even if it's from a different school every year.

And another new offer on OL/DL Jayden Montanez from Santa Monica! Hold 1 other offer from Portland State.

New offer on JUCO LB Aiden Sullivan from Butte College. Currently has double digit offers.

Despite being called the early signing period, the December signing period has become the main one for a lot of teams with the February period existing to fill in the gaps. I think Plough is mostly responsible for staffing changes and not the new OC. It wouldn't surprise me if we had a later developing recruiting class than normal, but it looks like what commits we have are holding so far. No de-commits from what I've seen at least.

That's a solid "I have no idea" from me. We'll find out soon enough though with the first signing period right around the corner.

Coaches are out on the road meeting with some of our recruits

I don't want to say we're in the clear, but at least in my mind if they were going to jump in the portal they would have done so already. Especially with a new coach already announced if they weren't happy with the decision they would have jumped... Certainly a big decision with that NIL money out there though.

Yeah sounds like a new OC coming in, but that's exciting that Coombs is coming back as DC.

Just got around to watching the press conference and what an outstanding introduction. You can really tell that Plough cares a lot about this program and wants to continue and exceed the success that Hawk has established. I'm very VERY excited that he mentioned the return of high tempo offense and increasing the complexity of offensive scheme to try to put games away early. Also sounded like a not so subtle dig at his situation in Boise where he mentioned that he was expected to call x number of runs etc. I know it can be a double edged sword that the Aggies recruit Aggies to coach, that maybe we don't cast a wide net, but Plough has me pretty stoked right now.

Plough introductory press conference starts in about 45 minutes

I'm nowhere close to the most senior Aggie on this board, but I've been watching since the 90's. I think the Aggies have actually had a fairly strong track record of running the ball over the last 10 years with guys like Gabe Manzanares, Manu Luuga, Joshua Kelley, Ulonzo Gilliam, and Lan Larison. I'm not dumping on having a good run game. It's an important aspect of football, but in today's football you have to be able to throw the ball somewhat effectively especially if you find yourself down in a game. We were lucky to have Larison this season because even with a good, but not star, level RB we likely would have had a losing season.

I certainly hope that the pass game will improve under Plough considering it's his specialty. It was kind of a rough look when our most effective offense was... Well... Just Larison whether it was wildcat or handoff.

I'm excited to see the potential changes for the offense. Plough has a couple more years of experience under his belt since he was our OC and it'll be interesting to see his evaluations of the current roster and where we might need to make some changes.

I think there's too many variables to really make a determination at this point if the offense will be more or less successful than this last season. That being said, it would be nice to break the 30 point mark in more than 4 games.

I believe it was Plough behind the high tempo no huddle offense we had when Jake Maier was slinging the ball. It wouldn't surprise me if Plough hits the portal and JUCO ranks to shape the team in his vision because I'm not sure we currently have the players to run his offense. We've become a grind it out running team and that's not at all how I remember Plough.

It'll be interesting to see how much of the coaching staff will be retained vs Plough bringing in some of his own guys. I figure there won't be much turnover initially especially with Hawk sticking around in some capacity.

Maybe Plough will bring back some of that no huddle that's been absent for several years at this point
