Karson Lippert has decided to not persue a football scholarship. He has instead committed to Stanford on a track and field scholarship.

Yes the Big Sky is a big enough conference that the conference champ gets an auto-bid into the playoffs. Otherwise, yes, it is up to a selection committee.

Don't worry guys, when I win the mega millions tonight that athletic center will get built REAL quick
  • UC Davis Ranked #6 in STATS FCS Poll
We might be overrated, who knows? What I do know is that the Coaches Poll is the only major FCS poll that has us ranked outside of the top 10 right now, seriously. STATS FCS, Athlon, HERO Sports, Massey Ratings, Sagarin Ratings... and then Coaches Poll has us at 13. Now 13 isn't bad by any means considering where we were 2 seasons ago, but most of the FCS guys out there think we are a top 10 team.

I personally think ISU is a better team than Montana this season, but I get what you are saying. The Aggies are going to have to come out of the gate fast and strong, defense force some turnovers. Montana is playing to try to stay in the playoffs, the Aggies know that. I think that they will be ready.

Cal Poly probably thought that the bye was going to help them as well. I'm not comparing CP to Montana cause they are in different ball parks this season, but the point still stands. Teams don't automatically do better because of a bye.

And barely beat Sac. Montana has talent, but they have been inconsistent as hell this season.
  • Week 9: Big Sky
That's what I thought. I would say EWU should beat up on Idaho, but EWU doesn't have Gubrud. NAU is on a downward trend too, Sac might have a chance as well. Down the board, very competitive games this week.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
From what I was reading on their fan forum, they believe Maier is going to shred their secondary. I posted in the Montana thread that they have 2 LBs that are lights out so we are going to have to avoid that damage that they can do.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
So a shoulda, coulda, woulda argument. Sucks when things don't go your way, but they aren't 6-1.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
Teams are double and triple covering him. Opens other receivers up.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
They managed to get 4 and a half minutes highlights?
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I don't think we are solidly number 2 but we could make the case at least right now. Davis has an equal to or better than every other team in the Top 10 (outside of NDSU) and have a stronger SoS than most of them, but not all, as well.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I'm not disagreeing with you. I think the Aggies could make a case for being at 2. I also think that the polls are hesitant to raise teams a ton in 1 week.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
If I remember correctly HERO Sports goes more with a power ranking rather than a pure ranking. So they are saying these teams have been the strongest recently and not so much looking at the entire season. That's why they have Incarnate Word (4-3) at 4th because they just pummeled McNeese. I think in a pure rankings the Aggies have a chance at top 5, but most likely top 7-8 after this performance.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
4 teams in the Top 10 STATS FCS Poll lost. Room for the Aggies to make a big jump up this week. Potentially top 5?
  • Week 9: UC Davis @ Montana
Players to watch for on the Griz

    QB Dalton Sneed
    - 1596 passing yards, 61.9%, 10 TDs, 4 INTs
    - 531 rushing yards, 5.5 ypc, 5 TDs

    RB Adam Eastwood
    - 424 rushing yards, 4.7 ypc, 6 TDs

    WR Samuel Akem
    - 438 receiving yards, 13.3 ypc, 6 TDs

    LB Dante Olson
    - 106 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 2 INTs, 3 forced fumbles

    LB Josh Buss
    - 52 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries

Our defense is going to have to contain Sneed and force him to throw the ball and on offense we are going to have to make sure to hold on to the ball and throw the ball over their 2 star LBs.
  • Week 9: UC Davis @ Montana
At the beginning of the season this was a game that I was fairly confident was going to be a loss for the Aggies. We've been better than I expected this season and the Griz have been worse. The Aggies are going to have their hands full with the home crowd, but I like our chances in this one.

The loss to Portland State and the close win to Sac really stand out to me. Western Illinois is only 3-4 right now as well.
  • Week 8: Big Sky
Alright, scores are all updated for the week. Some interesting games in the Big Sky for sure. NAU continues to fall without Cookus at the helm as they hand UNC their first win of the season. Weber State gets the win, but I'm going to be honest... I'm still not sold on them. Constatine threw 3 interceptions and they are being carried by RB Josh Davis in terms of offense. One trick ponies won't get it done in the playoffs. ISU almost gets the FBS win.

EDIT: Don't let the stats on the Weber State game fool you, Davis is still the guy to watch out for despite Garrett having 3 TDs... all 3 were from the 1 yard line.
