  • 2022 FCS Playoffs
My take after the last 5 days. Life is not fair; sports are not fair. UC Davis had a solid football team. At the end of the season the 6-5 record was the team’s resume, and the selection team for better or worse, fair or unfair did NOT like our resume enough to include us in the play-offs. IF UCD wins conference or 9-2 then this is a moot point.

Sac state won the conference and may win all of their playoff games. Sac State has just raised the bar for us and allows us to focus on becoming the best version of UCD football in pursuit of beating them. Let’s tip our cap to Sac State this time and kick the sh*t out of them next year.
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
Watched the game on live stream. Aggies showed competitive greatness; they were their best when their best was called for. Great last possession to tie the game. Took control with better conditioning to control the game in over-time. The Age can play with any this year! They will do a great job at the dance.
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
I like our chances. The Aggies are the defending champions and have a great team concept. I believe in Coach Leyson to have them ready!
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
Just checked the picture on the Aggie ICA web-site is NOT of the UC Davis team, but of youth water-polo players.
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
Thanks 72 Aggie--Went to the Aggie web-site--Then WTF! This is NOT the UCD team; BUT age group water-polo players. This is NOT OK. How did this happen? You just do NOT post children on the web without their parents permission. Second, how thick is our sports info team in not knowing the difference in caps size and pool venue.
  • Dan Whelan Selected By The DC Defenders (XFL)
Yes--Proud to be part of the UC system and CAL-Davis implies that we are not!
  • College Game Day to Bozeman
Good for them. Having spent some time in Big Sky and Bozeman; I remember in 2009 when the papers and the state government were talking about Montana football. A group wanted the state to have one of the schools look into jumping up into the FBS and becoming part of the Mountain West. This was a small but vocal group. A majority of folks loved the idea of having 2 FCS schools to cheer for and have a yearly rival game. The only time attendance at either takes a hit is the opening week-end of hunting season, so I believe the game will be a sell-out even with the temps in the 20's or lower.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
Just find this on SI--https://www.si.com/college/cal/news/troy-taylor-cal . Another distraction for the Hornets.
  • Week 12: UC Davis (6-4) at Sac State (10-0)
My families experience at local schools
    Davis--0
    Stanford-0
    Cal-3
    Sac State-3
    Fresno-10
Went to the UCD Fresno game my pre-teen daughters and myself were called out. It WAS very ugly!
  • Tough Hawkins Critique
My verdict is still ou tthis year on Hawk. The quote that this is the Best team in Aggie History, by the Head Coach raises the bar VERY HIGH. With that statement we need to win out and make the play-offs to be even close to the best team in UCD history. Hawk open the door VERY WIDE with this bold statement. Can anyone help me understand why he would make that statement?
  • San Diego State May Be Moving to the PAC12
Still hoping that the Regents stop UCLA from moving to the Big Ten. I do NOT believe it is in the best interest of the UC's to have UCLA move to the Big Ten. Terrible travel for the student athletes of UCLA's teams. However I could see the Big Ten teams liking the thought of traveling to SO-CAL once a year or every other year.

Looks like the meeting of Jan 15-17th will decide what the Regents allow.

  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
Beat LMU 10-9. Today is a rest day and tomorrow against the Tritons. Hopefully the men get another win and enjoy playing against a pumped up team and loud crowd. I feel could with the 2 seniors Levi and Connor leading them.
  • Men's water polo defeats No. 3 UOP.
A huge win for the Aggies. Beating UOP inches the team closer to the level of the elite in Men
s waterpolo. Traditionally this has been CAL, Stanford, UCLA & USC with UOP on top years making it a top 5. After playing USC so tough last year in the NCAA;s semis looks like Dan Leyson and the team are still moving toward a top tier progarm.
  • Daniel Descalso Cal Aggie Hall of Fame Induction
2 World Series and One ring. Was a great Aggie and an amazing pro!
  • Week 9: Big Sky Schedule and Scores
Big Sky looks like a conference with 2 tiers. The top teams being Sac-the 2 Montanas, Idaho and Weber state. Perhaps the Aggies can continue their winning streak. A win against Sac state should get us in the play-offs.
  • [Sea] Former UC Davis star Chima Moneke is signing with the Sacramento Kings, according to sources.
Chima is the first. Preston N was drafted but did no make an NBA roster. Kudos to Chima!!!
  • Buying Tickets Online
Right on AggieFinn. Always loved the interaction with students, parents or teachers in purchasing the ticket. My wife knows that I will find "something" to ask about and I enjoy the answer. Often times you end up being given info about the team's state of mind and how the team and school view the game. Anyway, I guess that makes me an "old fart." I will try this year to make a few week-ends to watch CIF play-off hoop in Nor Cal.
  • Buying Tickets Online
72Aggie had the same experience at CIF playoffs. I LOVE high school sports but again another hassle to deal with buying tickets with an ap. Really not sure the reason why high school sports requires an ap to enter a game?
