  • Week 3: UC Davis @ Stanford
Good showing by the Aggies. I knew we had reason to be concerned about your offense when we play you, but after listening to the Stanford game we now will also need to worry about your D.
  • Week 3: Big Sky
Brown arrived by Charter Flight Thursday and flew home Friday night after the game.
  • RIP Jason Hairston
Soccer does not get the attention football does when it comes to CTE, but I expect it will get more in the future. Headers, knocking heads when going for a header and also unprotected heads hitting the ground first when a player legs are taken out from under him add up to a lot of concussions. I just talked to a friend who’s daughter plays club soccer. She has missed this week of school due to a severe concussion she got last weekend playing soccer. She hit heads with another player and then landed on her head. She also needed stitches on her lip.
  • RIP Jason Hairston
There was not the understanding about CTE and concussions that there is today. Tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
  • Week 1: Big Sky
Walsh said in post game he may be done for the season. If so I really feel for the kid. He had the talent to be a 3 year starter. He burned his redshirt year his true Freshman season to start one game that Brown was hurt (thus allowing Dano Graves to redshirt and start the following year ahead of him). He then get the starting job last year to only missed the last 6 games to injury. He battled back and and may now only plays one game his senior season. I am hoping it is not as bad as it sounds.

We are better shape to replace him this year than last. Jake Jeffrey has 6 starts under his belt and I think he will have to fend off Rfr Kyle Reid who I think will get the call if Jenkins is out for the year. The most talented QB on the team may be true freshman Jalen Hamler. I do not think we would have seen him play last year, but with the new rule allowing him to play 4 games and still keep his redshirt we may see him some this year.
  • Week 1: Big Sky
Cal Poly has never matched up well with NDSU. Back in 2006 Cal Poly was 7-4 on the season with a win over San Diego State and a last minute 9-10 defeat on the road to #2 ranked Montana. That team went to Fargo and lost 51-14. I am not throwing in the towel just yet. I am hoping we can bounce back next weekend at home against a very good Weber State team.
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
Nice win, congrats. Your offense is going to be tough to stop.
  • 2019 Recruiting List
I see UC Davis has offered a lot of recruits that will most likely end up committing to the PAC 12. I think this is a good idea because even though they most likely will not end up committing to Davis, if it does not work out at the PAC 12 school and they decide to transfer they already have a relationship with the coaching staff at Davis.
  • HERO Sports FCS Ranks UC Davis at 22 in Preseason Poll
Having Protheroe and Jenkins healthy will be a big help Cal Poly’s offense. Cal Poly also brought in 9 JC players and 3 FBS transfers. After a 1-10 season there were a lot of holes that needed to be filled. I do not think they have ever brought in that many JC players.

  • 2018 schedule released
Charters used to fly into Santa Maria which in about 40 minutes south of San Luis Obispo. I believe they can now fly direct into San Luis Obispo.
  • 2018 schedule released
I think teams fly into Vegas and bus to Cedar City.
  • 2018 Recruiting List
At Cal Poly several football players have competed in track and a few have played baseball. Freshman running back Brock Mortensen will also play baseball at Cal Poly.
  • 2018 Recruiting List
Sarale is a nice late addition.

4.8 million, but it also included all new track (completely reconfigured) and field just adjacent to it. The Doerr Family Field included 140 yard field, lights, scoreboard, two filming towers and equipment shed.

The Doerr Family were the lead donars, but there were many others that contributed.
  • Practice field is going in...
No, it is a synthetic field. There is a natural grass field just to the left in the center of the new track that is also available to them.

Yes, there are lights. Two filming towers and some additional branding still to be installed.
