You are correct, and I should clarify my point. I am not saying FBS now or bust ala J Street Tech.

We should grow sustainably. We should not stay in FCS. We need to think ahead and FBS is the way. When you have the “best” schools in FCS ready to move to FBS that tells you a lot.

I am pro FBS because I see the positives it can bring to a school. Our school does not have the Sac State mentality that we “put the cart before the horse”.

I see us in FBS in 5-10 years and it will be great!

It opens us up to the country. Sports are the front porch to the university. We literally had people with no connection to the program come to our games because we were in the playoffs. Our campus is beautiful compared to other universities. Not many know this. The problem with other programs is that they mis manage funds. We are arguably the “best” FCS school based on academics and size not counting the ivies. We can be on par with Cal to be honest. We need to get in while we can.

Let them go. It’s a dog eat dog world. This is why we need to be in FBS. It adds to the school and draws more eyes on us.

I drove up from Southern California a few weeks ago. I was surprised at how bad the selection was at the bookstore. I even asked where I can get some UC Davis wine; none of the students knew. We need a better selection available. We don’t even have to reinvent the design. The classic CA logo or even what the coaches use would suffice. I absolutely hate the double font logo. I wish we could move away from it.

I didn’t make the drive up for this last game from Southern California. I got a nasty cold and didn’t want to aggravate it. In better health I would have gone. Us competing in sports is a win-win for the local economy.

If I were driving in from the east to the west where the stadium is, what are they building on the northern portion? It looked like it had a large glass facade.

I honestly think we will only get better. If we can move to MWC for Football that will get a lot of alumni involved. The seeds were planted a long time ago, now let the Sequoia grow.
