Sucks to lose, but if we roll sac state we should be #4 if USD loses to NDSU. This team is really good.

The 2 turnovers were killers. This team is really good. Top 4 seeding. Defense against the run should not not ignored. We will go deep in the playoffs.

I think the 4 seed is a real possibility even if we lose to Montana State. As CMT outlined, our 10-2 record should still be better than everyone else's record that is currently ranked below us (if it's a close, competitive game). If we get boat raced by Montana State the committee might see things differently and give us the 5 or 6 seed.
The difference between the 4 and 5 seed is huge. With the 4 seed we are guaranteed to be at home in the quarter finals vs. flying across the country or playing a snow game in the Midwest. That was my point. The wildcard is the South Dakota/NDSU game.

We all want to beat Montana St. this weekend, but if we lose, I think how we lose could be the difference between the 4 and 5 seed. If the game is close and we lose by 7, I can't see any other team taking the 4 spot. But, If we get blown out then???? Of course, if USD beats NDSU that changes the whole scenario. I can't see us losing to sac given the trajectory of both teams. 2 guaranteed home games vs. 1 is a huge difference. The only other teams that could jump us? Mercer, USD (if they lose a tight one to NDSU). I can't see Idaho, UIW or Richmond getting the 4 spot. The selection process is all about optics and we don't want to be in the wrong side of that.

I played in the 1992 playoff game against Portland state. We got off the plane on Friday in Portland in the pouring rain. We did our walk through in pouring rain. We went to bed and it was still raining. We woke up Saturday morning to pouring rain. We played the game in a complete downpour. Khari Jones couldn't grip the ball and the defense was on roller skates. Portland State had no problems at all. We lost 42-28 after scoring some points late. I'll never forget that game. It should have been played in Davis as we were the higher ranked team, but that's how things went in the D2 days. Oh, and when the plane took off, it was still raining. I never knew it could rain that much.

I was really excited when I heard about the Mercer game, which is a doable drive from ATL (1.5 hrs). Mobile, not so much (5 hrs). I've lived in Atlanta since 2000 and this will be the closest game since my move.
FYI - GA Tech is in downtown Atlanta - about 1.5 hrs from Mercer (Macon).

This is not the SEC. I'm always critical, but I have to keep in perspective that the OC is not a $1M job at UC Davis. Our OC does not have the experience, or probably the talent, to meet our expectations. We're always hoping for the diamond in the rough. Our current OC might grow in to that, but right now, he's far short.

It's the OC. As an x-player, it's obvious.

The offense is broken. It comes down to the OC or the QB.

I've never been a Hastings fan. He doesn't see the field well. The offense always feels clunky with him. And has been mentioned before, he doesn't create anything.

Thanks for the info. I've been in Atlanta for 23 years and don't make many games. I'd like to re-stock the gear on the trip.

This offense is really bad.

offense has never looked good under Cody. Will we ever throw the ball more than 5 yards down field. Defense must be tired and frustrated every game.

I think we're missing Tim plough. We have crazy talent on offense, but the play calling is really conservative. Thank goodness for the defense, which is much, much better.
