I’m sure they’re a solid team and the game, if we play them, won’t be easy. But they only played 1 of the other 4 teams in their conference that had a winning record (we played 3 of the other 4) and they have a loss to a 5-5 Ivy League team.

Massey has us 7th in FCS with the 9th hardest SOS (I’m assuming that doesn’t count the Mercer game either). Rhode Island is 20th with the 79th SOS. Central Conn is the 78th ranked team with the 112th SOS. I guess that’s why they’re playing the 9 seed.

Sagarin (which includes FBS teams) ranks us 19 spots higher and 62 spots higher in SOS.

The only “go go go” Sac will be doing the next couple weeks will be their players go go going into the transfer portal.

I’m choosing to believe us getting a bye is the universe evening things out a bit after we got screwed over in 2022 (and maybe 2023).

Man that Montana pod seems rough. You're the 3 seed and you get South Dakota St in your first game and then likely either South Dakota or Mercer after.

They went 10-2, 8-0 in the CAA but missed both Villanova and Monmouth (top-10 to 15 teams). Also lost to a 5-5 Brown team by 7. So the SOS is pretty weak.

Montana gets the winner of South Dakota St-New Hampshire.

As well it shouldn't. Being ahead on the road against the team that's seeded 6 should be worth something.

Man that is still shocking. I yelled out a loud "whoa" when our name popped up.

Not saying we're not deserving, but it wasn't clear cut like it was last year that we were getting a bye. Just seemed like there were a lot of decent teams in there that could have gotten the 8 also and I wouldn't have been upset if we got seeded 12th or whatever.

I really thought that Idaho St loss was going to cost us a bye.

I know they said it didn't count, but I wonder if the Mercer game played any sort of a role in us getting the 8 seed.

I figured we were locked into 9-16 with the announcement about tickets being available for season ticket holders for a game next weekend.

Kind of sucks that we get NDSt in the next game if we win our first game.

Good to see Lehigh didn't get rewarded for going undefeated with a crap schedule. Didn't understand that brackets that had them at 3 or 4 ahead of Montana.

They shouldn't. And neither should NAU. Big Sky should be a 3 bid league this year. NAU would have had an argument had they won yesterday, but getting thumped by a 4-8 Weber was the nail in the coffin.
