as bad as your offense has been (by Poly standards, by our past standards your scoring is very Gould-like), your defense seems to be pretty solid. held NAU, Weber and SUU to 28 or less (less than 20 for the last 2). i worry about our running game vs. the mustangs. maybe we can get outside with some success -> that has eluded us all season.
  • Greetings Aggie Fans
think back to last year when we went down there with 2 wins and had them on the ropes until the end.
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
Granddaughter’s third bday in the afternoon so hard to follow via espn updates. Seemed like everytome I checked we were in third and long or third and really long or with poor field position or committed another penalty to extend a drive ( or put us in third and very long). Don’t know how much led to run dominated play calling. End of half was very Weber-like. Hopefully a post bye week hangover-> have seen it a lot in recent years.

By the way I have two box seats available for poly. 45 yard line with me and agalum and wife’s. If interested and promise to be loud contact me via private message

He is in San Diego. Was at SDSU game

i thought he was injured on a kickoff return vs. Weber, but maybe i'm thinking of Williams. Hard to remember that far back!

this is gonna be a tough one. playing a really good offense with a hot QB on the road at 7000 feet. we'll have to get out to a good start, and put some 7's on the board. turnovers will be a key (although our 2 INT's vs. EWU weren't enough). I don't think these guys are as talented on offense as EWU, but they can score often and FAST. they put away Portland with 28 straight after it was 14-13 in the 3Q; that was a pick-6 and a couple 3 play drives on short fields. so, turnovers and field position! need big games from the running backs, and someone besides Doss. Getting Ryan P back should really help the defense, both against the run and pass. Keep him off of special teams!

someone explain to this old-timer what a 'nationally ranked long snapper' is?
  • Midseason articles - OLine, Aggie, Dunning
Weber and poly went last year at 7-4. UND and EWU also went. Two other 7-4 teams and a 6-5 Illinois st. I’d have to look at teams like Montana’s schedule to see who they have left. A win over NAU would be huge: else they EWU and Weber are in the driver’s seat for spots and we’d be hoping for the fourth Big Sky spot. They take Montana over us( or anyone) if records were the same
  • Big Sky Scores Week 7
They scored 28 in a row. Pick 6 seemed to be the turning point. That and a short 50 yard drive after PSU Went for it on 4th and short. We’ll have to stop the big plays next week. Vikings may have given up

we could go 5-0; and 0-5 is also a possibility. We should be a big favorite over poly, but it’s a rivalry game. NAU & ISU. On the road? Tough games. Hope to split. SUU at home? Should win, but no cakewalk. SAC? They look pretty solid and it’s a rivalry game. If I were a betting man i’d say 3-2. 6-5 would be a big step forward
  • Vote for Keelan!
apparently our ballot stuffing worked, according to the football facebook page.
  • Vote for Keelan!
i just voted for the kid from Lehigh to get him to 30 votes. 30 sounds like so many more than 29! i guess the Engineer fans don't get into this social media stuff.

i think Doss has a safe lead.
  • Week 6: Eastern Washington @ UC Davis
I agree completely. And,the other good sign is that we weren't satisfied with that 30-point improvement. We were disappointed with a loss. at this rate, we beat them by 27 next time up on the red turf. That should turn some heads!
  • Vote for Keelan!
apparently the Hero thing is like Chicago politics -> vote early and OFTEN!
  • Descalso
Home Run tonight vs Yu Darvish. This guy has made a pretty nice career for himself.
  • Week 6: Eastern Washington @ UC Davis
We ran it a handful of times. Second possession of second half, after we ran it every play on the first drive, we ran a nice jet sweep for about 15-20 yards. Called back on hold on opposite side. Seems like first drive was setting that and TE post up. Hold was away from play and didn’t help. That one hurt
  • Week 6: Eastern Washington @ UC Davis
    it was UNC.

one difference between that night and saturday is that we were TERRIBLE vs. UNC and its wasn't clear we deserved a victory. Saturday, we played a solid game that we could/should have won.
  • Field Hockey 1-9
and those well established schools are recruiting from areas where there is a strong field hockey system in the high schools. california isn't a real hot bed for field hockey.

two weeks back we stayed at the hyatt after the UND game. the Ohio State field hockey team was there (they played Stanford and us that weekend, both in Davis). That's got to take some cash to stay there for several nights! several parents i talked to had alot of good things to say about the Aggie team, despite their record. they played OSU even.
  • Week 6: Eastern Washington @ UC Davis
the play that REALLY hurt on the last drive was that little swing/outlet pass to Modise that was over his head. He caught it and fell for a 2 yard loss. hit him in stride, he gains several and gets out of bounds (in a perfect scenario). instead, he lost yards and plenty of time. in retrospect, either ground it or let it drop. easy for me to say from the stands (or on Monday).

i think they felt they could quickly exploit the soft prevent to get down the field with short passes and getting out of bounces. a few shots down the field, and you're in a position for a easy field goal or a TD from 15-20 yards out. poorly executed first couple of plays left us with a LONG field goal from a young guy. would have loved to have the ball at the 20 with 2 or 3 shots, and a time out. oh well.
