I read Koehler is entering as a grad transfer so this might be driven by academics. Needs to find a school he can enroll in a masters program in order to use that bonus year of eligibility.

that one is a surprise. He left one school, UCSD, already. At least that one was for a step up in competition.

Squire is a puzzle. Averaged over 30 minutes a game.

I wonder if some of this is driven by COVID and feeling a bit isolated from their families. Hope it works for them

    ugh; that stings
  • 2021 Spring Playoffs
all good points plus the fact that there would have been a two week layoff HAD we have been a playoff team. I frankly think the playoffs are a bad idea. Play into May and back in camp first of August?

no chance; we shuttered operations after EWU.
  • Ok, this is eerie...
I have witnesses from past Brewfests that can attest Vaughn and I aren’t the same person. He’s been a semi-regular pourer of some non small brewery beer (like Bud) and I’ll hit him up when the other lines are too long.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it

Sow was a great keep. I’m like you -the transfer portal isn’t a favorite of mine, but it’s here to stay. I like giving a chance for a kid to leave early in his career if he decides it’s not a right fit - that gives him time to become part of a new program and campus. Less excited about guys showing up for one year.

UCSB has been killing it with P5 transfers; i believe that 4 of their starters from last year's team were of that variety. That's probably not an area we will make any inroads.

this should be really nice for graduation since the screen will be above the stage.

My oldest graduated at ARCO and having a big screen to see kids get their diploma up close and personal

the former head of PAC12 officials was a guy named Dave Cutha. He was a FOX college rules guy. He did my high school games in Antioch, then frosh games at Davis. He’d occasionally do games at Davis when his PAC12 crew had a break.

Mike Perreira, former head of NFL officials and FOX analyst, was there evaluating the crew.
  • 2021 Men's NCAA Tournament
In contrast the women’s championship game is painful to watch. Turnovers, tons of contact, tripping over feet. Stanford working down the shot clock and getting up nothing? Yikes

PLayoffs start in 3 weeks! Teams playing in may, coming back in August. That’s a load
  • 2021 Men's NCAA Tournament
that was one of the best played and entertaining games I can remember. The defense was fierce, yet the offensive talent was able to overcome. Such a cleanly played game. Heartbreaking for UCLA.

what frustrates me is that they reviewed for about 5 minutes to make the call. There weren’t THAT many TV angles, so how many times did they look at the ‘definitive’ end zone shot before that swayed the decision

I’m booked San Diego and Poly. Thought about Tulsa BUT it’s hard to get there. Also talked to people in department who said Tulsa wasn’t a great place when they went for NCAA basketball.

Run game and defense were pluses. Coombs,I think, did a nice job as DC. Kept us in games when the offense struggled and did a good job of making adjustments during the game. Little Hawk is still work in progress. Not having Gilliam limited the pass game, in my opinion.

QB picture is still murky. I like Hunter especially when they roll him out. Tompkins has a lot of skills, but we’ve not seen him for a full game leading the pass game. Seems like we have a wealth of good receivers, with speed and quickness, but we couldn’t exploit that (besides the fly)

I’m excited about the present and future. We’re bringing in top notch players and the more we have, the more competitive the environment and the better we get.
