Best of luck to Kennedy. Hard-nosed kid who brought energy every time he was on the court. I think his ‘transfer’ was a numbers game - no room for another grad transfer.

I got the impression that recruits only had to have the UC required GPA of 3.0 in the core classes to be eligible for admission. I’ve never heard coaches mention SAT scores when discussing the eligible pool of recruits.

I can’t think of any in recent history with larger rosters, both NFL and NCAA. Apparently it happens in the CFL with smaller game day rosters.

yes; rarely see combo kickers. Much different kicking motions. I think we often have a separate guy for kickoffs!

Herb Schnamberger hired him as an assistant (baseball assistant also). Not sure the AD who made them him the varsity coach.

Hawkins was a game changer for the men’s program!

i think some of the selections were driven by schools that put in bids to host. I know we came out and said we had no interest in hosting (this was prior to the EWU game).

thats how I read it. Portal is a means of putting your name out there so schools can recruit, rather than it being the player’s job to find a school (assuming NOBODY would ever pouch players!)

Part of the push for Give Day to give even a small amount is to boast our rankings. One criteria, and it’s big, is percentage of alum that donate. So getting a bunch of young alum to donate $25 means more than an old guy donated a big amount. We have a ton of young alum, not nearly as many donors in the age bracket to make bigger contributions.

I was at the golf tournament during the Gould era sitting with one of our more generous donor. Ron made a point of saying hi and my friend said ‘you know,Ron, every week the other team’s QB seems so much better than ours. We have to fix that’. He never did
