I think these projections don’t look at possible future reasons, it’s as if the playoffs start today. Might be less rosy in two weeks

I saw that. That, and the extra week of work, seemed to help the OL although run game was just ‘okay’. Run game was really starting to gel in third quarter, but they weren’t dominate enough to continue when we got so predictable. That, and the fact that NAU was getting more rest in fourth, really slowed us down

Lansom has been out at tackle for awhile, and Ford came out yesterday limping very badly. Linemen injuries have been an issue.
  • On the right side of another upset...sort of
I thought the cows were moved from Tercero? I don’t recall smelling them this season
  • Week 11: Eastern Washington @ Davis
I think Barriere has really become a better quarterback over the year, and it seems like EWU has made an effort to make him a complete QB. That being said, if they need him to run to win out, they might turn him loose.

it shows up now on the ‘on demand’ section for college football on ESPN+
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
you should be able to find it on ESPN+, i think starting tomorrow.

i thought the defense slowed them down a bit after that first quick TD drive. seems like we adapted a bit, blitzed more, and got pressure on the two QB's. they had 200 yards or so at the half, after 75 in the 1st 3 minutes. Martinez was going to be a load, but the injury was on a sack. it felt like when we shut things down on offense, that kind of seeped over the defense. plus, we were in the prevent mode, so giving up a 97 yard drive over 7 minutes seemed like a good tradeoff.

offense pretty played with a swagger for 3 quarters. Hastings looked confident. the running game wasn't its normal self, especially against a defense that hasn't been great, but was picking up steam in the 3rd Quarter. i know we played the precentages that the backup QB wouldn't come back from 3 scores...BUT....getting THAT conservative with clock and play calling really takes the energy from the team.
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
I think we had 485 yards in first 3 quarters; 15 in the fourth. Seems like we lose our edge when we slow it down that much that early.
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
I imagine we might run the ball a lot in the fourth quarter.

And we pass on first diwn

That doesn’t look good. Another lineman

If anyone knows how to turn off closed captions on ESPN+ on fire stick, let me know. Seems a holdover from watching BritBox

If I’m a coach and I’ve lost two QBs, I would NOT have the third guy run. And yet….

Offense seems to have found their swagger. Need TDS in the red zone. Love to see a TD drive to open half and put pressure on the new (newest?) guy
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
If they are down to their third QB, I don’t see them keeping up with us. Offense is playing with a lot of confidence
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
We really need a clean game from the offense. Eliminate the bad penalties, no drops, no negative plays. Those have been the things that keeps the offense from getting on a roll. Poly was frustrating that way. Looked like we’re ready to put things away, then it’s 2 and 20, and we stall
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
those were both big opportunities. First would have got us on the board or up 10-0 (can’t recall); last would have sealed the deal.
  • Week 10: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
I think 2 v Poly. One early in first half, one later in the game on their trick play. First one especially so.
  • MBB Preseason: UC Davis picked to finish fourth
Long Beach has really taken a drop in conference. I wonder if Monson will survive another lower half of the conference?
  • TCU, Gary Patterson part ways
the Flex was designed by Tom Landry as a run stopping defense. Supposed to be a way to combat counters and the old ‘run to daylight’ Packers’ sweeps.
  • Keelan Doss: Falcon watch
I think he’s also up for reckless driving for the 156 mph. Hard to imagine him getting no time.
