It does seem like we will all be battling for 2nd behind UCSB. So other than the location, what other resources do the Gaucho's have that other mid-majors do not?

On the women's side, we just picked up a 6'2" transfer from Colorado:

Fills a big whole as we suffered from a lack of interior depth last year.

Love this pickup...versatile wing that can guard many positions and is super athletic. I'll look around for some video.

Highlights from his Juco year...I assume he'll have two years left. Looks like Sac offered him last month.

Yeah this is an interesting decision. Elijah is a smart kid and I’m sure he’s getting good advice. We’ve been spoiled getting to watch him play.

Looks like the Ags have lost their first player to the portal. Verbal Commits has listed DeAndre Henry as transferred. Nothing on his twitter page about that, so it's always possible it's a glitch. Assuming it's true, that will give us 2 schloraships for next year. Certainly need another inside presence.
  • March Madness
between the LSU win over Iowa, and Iowa’s win over a really good South Carolina team in the semis, the women’s tournament has had some fantastic games.

I’m guessing that we are holding that one open a scholarship for someone off the portal that can help us win next year. We’ve got two guys, Mani and Strong, who could be big contributors coming off their redshirt year. Seems like another big guy would help.

    Crazy start to the Madness!
  • Big West Tournament
I'm definitely one that went down to the Honda Center (for the last 5 years there, or so) and haven't been to Henderson, yet. For me, my son and I could leave early Thursday morning and get to Anaheim by the first tip off of the day (which was usually the Ags). In Henderson, we are looking at either a long drive the day before, or a flight. So more time and higher cost have kept us away. Maybe next year we'll take the whole week and catch some Pac-12, MW, WCC games also.

    And on to OT
  • Women's 2023 Big West Basketball Tournament
It'll be interesting to see how the Ags rebound from a down year. Yeah they finished 4th in the regular season, but they suffered a fair number of blowouts. Ball security and some more inside presence seem to be the priorities.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Getting into the top 6 was a big deal

totally agree about some odd choices. Hindsight of course but it Seems they should have kept up the pressure down the stretch
  • WBB @ UCSB and Long Beach 3/2 and 3/4/2023
Ags are certainly peaking at the right time. Gotta give a ton of credit to the coaches who didn’t panic early on in the season when we looked terrible. If Tova and Turner (TnT) can continue to hit from 3 consistently, and cut down on the team wide turnovers, Ags could beat anyone in the BW.

I was in the foothills wine tasting, so was only able to watch snippets when we were between wineries. So missed the last minute of the regular time, but watched on replay last night. Just an incredible finish. Beach really let up on defense, I’m sure they didn’t want to foul, resulting in some quick and easy shots. Neither team played particularly well with the lead.

Hopefully the Ags can carry the momentum with then to Henderson.
