Nice article about what student-athletes must deal with.

Haven't seen anything yet. I'll post whatever I see.

Dr. Mike, yeah you're right, plus I think they had a player who was from the area and they wanted to get a game close to where she was from to get the local family a chance to see her play. Still, I thought it was a nice gesture.
And yeah, BGA, I saw that score and thought it was a little classless. Didn't realize their starters were still in after half.

We drew 4,712 to the game against Ucon in 2014. A record for women's bball.

I would imagine we'll put in a request to host if we make it through K st., but we'd be playing either Indiana or Purdue, so it doesn't seem likely.

And on a side note, I know we've been D1 for a while now, but as a long time D2 fan, I still get a kick out of seeing UCD in the same sentence as Indiana, Purdue, K St. in any sport.

And I think wbb is different than mbb. In men's tournament, i get the control the power five conferences have, and it's all about the dollars. but in wbb, part (maybe a small part) of the job of the tournament committees should be to grow the game, and it just makes sense to me that giving a worthy mid-major a home game would help grow the game. I always admire UConn for coming out to Davis a few years ago. Part of their reasoning was to bring the top players to an area that doesn't normally see them in person and in so doing, perhaps get a few more local girls to play the sport, or a few more fans to make women's basketball part of their viewing habits.

I saw that too. Little enthusiasm on their message board and only 1,300 at their game against Utah. Too bad we're not hosting.

    Go Ags!

    Here comes the pressure

This is about as dominating a performance as I’ve seen from the Ags. Need to keep the pedal down.

hope we can keep up this shooting pace. Wyoming just keeps hanging around

    Bertsch is almost unstoppable

Good start for the Ags. Up 16-10 midway through the first quarter

Yep, over 7K ft I think. I would imagine they are flying then busing in.

If the team that showed up last night, with the energy on both ends (and in transition), shows up on Sunday, we'll give WY everything they can handle. I just looked at their roster...9 players 6'0 or over, but none over 6'2". Pele, Hall and Bessolo will need to play "big" and Bertsch and Anderson will need to stay out of foul trouble. Rebounding will be important. Go Ags!

Great win. What a total turn around from the big west tournament. Keep it rolling Ags!

C'mon back during the off season and we'll keep the discussion going!

Regarding Mooney, he did show that he is more than just a spot up shooter. He can get into the lane and has a nice little floater. But, I'm just not sure he can fill that 3rd starting guard role. Over the years, from Avery Johnson, to Lawrence White, to Michael Onyebalu, Les seems to fill that spot with his best athlete who can defend the other teams best non-big offensive player. Is Mooney quick enough to fill that role, or will it be Jackson or Nelson or someone we don't even know about yet. Les will definitely sacrifice offense, if needed, to get his best defensive team out there.

Definitely a good season for the Ags, especially when you consider none of the starting 5 in the NIT game this year started the NCAA game last year.

I did find it interesting that Jonah Underwood suited up yesterday. The only reason that I can think of would be if we fouled out multiple players and just needed a body on the court. Still, it was good seeing him standing next to Goode and John in the huddle...he will definitely add some depth to our bigs next year. In fact, with Goode, John, Russell, Underwood, Strom, and Neufeld, it seems like we should be able to match up size wise with just about any team in the BigWest, although I do worry if 1 or 2 of these guys transfers out (like Henn and Hewitt the year before). Looks like we recently offered Shane Gatling (JC transfer). We've got 3 guys leaving for sure (Chima, Hennings, Michael) and only 1 committed so far (high school PG), so we may see some more JC pickups.

Looking forward to a very good team next year. Go Ags!

he stormed onto the court yelling at the ref. He didn’t stop

Ags up 33-29 at half. Overall good defense. Definitely need John and shorts to stay out of further foul trouble
  • MBB: 2018 NIT Tournament
Ags up 17-11 after one. Fouls starting to mount though
