  • Sac State Made Crowd Safety Mistakes for Lil Yachty Concert, Expert Says in Sac Bee Article
    Indeed.

I keep forgetting he isn't the Director of Athletics, and he is in-fact the university president. His duties are to the school as a whole: to serve as the chief executive, academic, and administrative leader, responsible for strategic planning, budget management, fundraising, and overseeing all campus operations. This includes a focus on academic programming, facilities, and personnel. I'm pretty sure this leaves most of the athletics stuff to the AD.

Does this leave time to mess around with Quavo/Yachty? It appears that he spends 90% of his time on the football/MBB programs. Serious questions Sac alums/students should be asking.

I understand, completely, pushing the envelope and trying new things...being bold when one feels like things aren't working, etc.

In this case, Dr. Wood exhibits behavior unbecoming of a university president. The people in the Sac State Office of the President need to step in and straighten him out. He is doing damage. Having another concert tonight is a bad decision for safety reasons (obviously), but also cost concerns will now arise that the school will need to answer to.

I can't imagine the uproar if any UC chancellor behaved in this way. Especially Chancellor May.....or maybe people would fall in line / not care, who knows. Hopefully Davis never has to find out. The whole thing has been pretty bad.
  • Plough's name coming up as a possibility for Oregon State
The quote: "full transparency, there's been six jobs that they've reached out to me and like 'Hey, you interested? You want this job?'

To be contacted 6 different times to interview (assuming FBS) is a big deal.

Its good he's talking about "5, 7 to 10 years out at Davis"

Plough mentions 6 job offers in a year-and-a-half in Davis for 3x or 4x the money. Wow.
He also said he's going to coach for 20 more years.
"I have to win a National Championship at Davis"

I believe him when he says he's going to be here for a while. Lucky to have him

    Listening to the APP.....
Northern Colorado game is similar to Portland State game last year in terms of atmosphere. Sleepy park-like stadium. The big difference is Portland State was terrible, UNC is underrated.
I think the Ags are going to be more up for this one.

I really like Plough's idea about the Aggie Football event in February. This should for sure be pumped here on AST.

There are people that were planning on attending the Montana game that will no longer be attending for safety and other reasons. Then again, there will be people who wouldn't have attended and now want to watch another "car crash." I think we know what kind of fans are preferred.

Although the "name" is getting out and there has been a little attendance spike, Wood is doing damage to Sac State in a few ways. I think Sac alums will look back on the Wood era and cringe.

Exactly. Physical size and speed only go so far.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Just to be clear...the context of my comment is the target demographic for Sac (in terms of scheduling concerts) is Sac St. students and local HS students, not thugs looking for fights.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
One of the comments on X...."no police in sight.....Shaq we need you" lol

    What a circus.

These shows are great to get Sac St. and local HS students into the stadium....I guess the hope is they start to like football too, and remain interested. This looks like the target demographic from the marketing I've seen (heavy on the hot air / sh*t talk).
Also, its recruiting gimmicks. Much like offering Toosii a scholarship.
Interesting that none of the recruiting stuff is centered around a "40 year decision," like many schools use. They are literally selling a "1 year" plan.

For the NoCo game it appeared that around 6k showed up over the 3rd / 4th quarters. To my eye, attendance looked like 14k in the first half (there were like 150 people on the East side).
The crowd looked really young on TV.

Crazy seeing an FBS transfer QB throw a 7 yard pass 3 yards behind his receiver.

Montana had a dude like that a couple years ago....still won a bunch of games and went to the '23 Natty. Clifton McDowell- limited as a passer, but way better than Cardell Williams....ended up transferring to McNeese.
I remember seeing him make some terrible throws against Davis. Still won the '23 game though.
  • Big Sky Games: 2025 WEEK 8
it’s a very likely scenario as well.

I think Montana has a great chance of beating them.

Sac’s pure athleticism is saving them- on offense in space especially. They appear so sloppy all over the field. Gibson heaving picks really helped them on defense.

I didn’t see the very end of the game unfortunately, but it sounds like that very well could have been another loss for Sac (?)
  • Big Sky Games: 2025 WEEK 8
Wood doing his job in this instance, trying to create a football buzz with a fan base that largely showed up in second half for a postgame concert.

I want Sac to keep winning and be 8-3 and ranked in the top-10 when we play them. I want a HUGE game. I want the Ags to beat 'em and maybe even keep them out of the payoffs.
  • Big Sky Games: 2025 WEEK 8
    Gibson can’t stop throwing INTs…..jeez.
  • Big Sky Games: 2025 WEEK 8
UNC going back and forth with Sac now.

Can they keep up? 35-34 Bears.
  • Big Sky Games: 2025 WEEK 8
Lafayette giving Oregon State a game. Beavs are BAD.
  • Big Sky Games: 2025 WEEK 8
Yeah it looks like it’s filled in a bit in the second half for sure…for the postgame show.
