Maybe it's me getting soft in my old age or just not caring anymore, but you guys look really really good, and it's kinda cool to see a team from this area look poised to make the jump.

Sac is really talented but same ole, same ole when it comes to not playing stupid. I think the Causeway could be a barn burner this year.

Mean this sincerely, but good luck the rest of the way. This area is better when both teams are good.

You would have killed him...that's the literal definition of murder in several states.

I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was going to be one that did it for me....put me over the edge. I didn't like that we took our foot off the pedal after scoring 52, felt like we weren't showing proper respect to the history of the series and the opponent, and it almost bit us in the arse.

When Davis got the ball back late I honestly thought it was over, the Ags were going to pull it out. Just seen this happen too many times. I left my seat with my friend and started walking towards the car, stopping to watch in the north end zone because I just physically wouldn't have been able to watch the celebrating and feel the heartbreak. I seriously was feeling semi-sick (could have been from the booze, too) I might have thrown in the flag and called it quits if Sac choked that.

Honestly, this season was a success for both schools. Neither were supposed to do much of anything and both were exciting to watch. I think the future finally looks bright for college football in the Sac metro area.

Donald Hair was the ‘88 RB for Sac, Mark Young the WR. First time I ever saw Sac beat Davis as a youngster.

Troy Mills came a few years later.

That call WAS terrible but selfishly led to one of most iconic moments in the series for Sac, the Mattos March

Ah, the mental gymnastics of playing the what if after a Causeway loss. We usually are the ones rationalizing how if a couple of plays or calls went our way, things would have been different.

Classic Causeway. Sac State shows it is superior most of the game and then almost craps the bed. Aggies show huge resilience. The biggest difference being "almost." Sac didn't do it this time and for all the games in the past they "should have won" they actually held on today.

The game was a blast, had fun with both fans. This is a Sac area institution that needs to thrive and grow. The community is missing out not spotlighting this game.

When Sac was up big people around us started claiming it was over, I kept saying, "you don't understand...this is Davis." Sure enough the Ags stormed back. But for once Sac perservered.

    PLEASE DOSS GO PRO....NO MAS!!!

You're probably right....so many have happened they get scrambled in my brain.

That is a rough one....still hurts. I think Sac State was up 13-0 right out of the gate at the time, looked like they were gonna cruise and that turnover gave Davis life on a ridiculous play call. Then it started pouring and neither team could move the ball. Sac lost the game late in the fourth when our punt returner tried to field the ball inside the 10 in the rain and sleet nursing a one-point lead and predictably fumbled it.

I have Davis as a 4 pt. favorite purely based on history. Sac State always comes into this game over-amped and makes at least 4-5 bonehead plays (i tell myself it's because we care more), regardless of talent level. Sac's biggest issue is the Davis mystique and real estate they own in our heads...and Doss, he's pretty good, too.

Lolol, you guys are losing your touch! Apologizing for trash talking on the week of the Causeway? What the hell has happened to us?!

    **cracks knuckles** Let's do this...

It is a shame for many of SAC State's athletic programs that they have to deal with such an overwhelming level of student apathy. I've met several of their coaches (different sports), and they're all intelligent, caring people who have the student- athletes best interests in mind. They've improved their programs, but they can't get students to attend. It's gotta be Joe Six- Pack from Sactown (I hate "Sactown") who attends. If it weren't for old white dudes from wherever the bball team would have about a dozen fans in attendance.

Ain't that the pot calling the kettle black? At least we are in an urban environment with plenty of other entertainment opportunities to blame. What else is there to do in Davis on a Saturday? Your stadium is so empty most of the time it really emphasizes how boring and plain it really is. It's like the FCS version of Levi's Stadium. At least Toomey had character.

The Aggie Pack, or what's left of it, is a joke. Used to be kind of entertaining. At least we can agree on the Millenials ruining everything angle.

    Did someone beckon?

We are alive, emerging from the shadows! I think someone nailed it when they said the last few years took the wind out of our sails. It killed off a lot of enthusiasm for the program (what remained), as evidenced by lack of activity at SacBuzz. I think a lot of Hornet fans are still cautious about this season, even now. This kind of came out of nowhere, most of us expected 2-3 wins again and Sears to be gone.

It's really best for both programs when they are winning, we kind of need each other long-term to succeed.

I was not a fan of Sears coming into the year, but he's really won me over. This team has a crap load of talent and plays a style that is fun to watch. They attack on defense, pound the ball and take deep shots on offense. Sears appears to have laid a great future foundation, focusing on the lines on both sides of the ball. I've done a 180 (360 for those of you with a UCD "degree") on Sears and hope he is re-signed regardless of the Causeway outcome. Only hiring McClure would be acceptable if they move on from Sears, IMHO.

Saturday should be a blast. The stadium is looking great, beer garden is awesome and they park about 10 delicious food trucks in the north end zone. Stingers Up!
