The color announcer last night might have been the worst I have ever heard. I counted 13 baseball analogies, among countless other weird things

I hated both at first, but I grew to like, because of his rough edges and love for the game. Boring is worse.

Apologies for the commentary, what can you say but Boom Goes the Dynamite...coming around third...it's a home run...wgaf.

Well, SD beat us on the music. Loved everything they played. Pretty much dislike most of ours.

Brayden Rosa was the dude of the night in my opinion. Kid makes plays.

There is a reason the run defense stiffened when it did.

Overall, it was a good night for UC Davis. QB will continue to improve with reps, two-headed monster (and deeper) at RB, and the WR corps is outstanding. I recall someone calling the shot on Laviel Pickett being a dude. I'm not, however, convinced yet about the run D, and this probably isn't the week for it to improve.

I thought the color commentator was correct in his observation that Davis played more players closer to the line of scrimmage as the first half progressed, largely due to the fact that the corners had USDs receivers covered.

The commentator, George Whitfield, gushed perhaps too effusively over Cleeland. But he has a background as a QB trainer working with some NFL QBs, and having a training academy for QBs, so he has a background to support his opinion.

Slow WRs, an undersized OL, and an average-at-best QB is a deadly combination. If that team is the projected champion of the PFC, the PFC does not deserve a playoff bid. I know, I know, they won a playoff game or two a decade ago, but this year's iteration of a projected conference champ is not worthy of a playoff spot. Wait til Stetson comes to town. We'll see up close and personal the quality of programs that USD is beating up upon every year. Ole!

He has allegedly:"Has trained elite NFL quarterbacks and Heisman winners, including Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Ben Roethlisberger, and Johnny Manziel."

Davis would have announced 11,000 for that crowd!

I think Lou summed things things up well when he opined ‘lots of pretty girls down here’DrMike

Spot on analysis. I was blown away all night.

I'm looking forward to Cleeland finding more consistency as he goes. Like I said, he threw some beautiful balls.....and a few really poor ones. Great stat line this week, and the W. He's doing a great job so far as a 1st year starter.

I'm pretty sure I got spoiled watching Pinnick's immediate accuracy last year. 70% completions 32 TD and 10 Ints w/ 172.4 rating as a freshman was special.
Small sample size for Cleeland, but he's competing 63% (56% in game 1 vs. 71% game 2) w/ 7 TDs and 2 Ints. and a 160 rating. He has a lot of potential and looks to be improving which is a great sign.

Looking forward to seeing Boogie Sylvester at some point as a slightly bigger back to help Fisher out on some of the tougher yardage situations. RB depth looks way better with Boogie in there.

Looking forward to the TEs getting more touches as well. We have some good ones.

Hopefully David Main is ok and will be back. Tough luck for him as he worked hard to get back out there last year.

Nice to see some depth at LB when Sievers went out, with McEnroe and Afato.
Brayden Rosa is a tackle machine, just like in HS.

Overall the team looks rougher around the edges this year, but the potential is definitely out there.
Getting some important guys back out there will help shore things up on defense, especially Carrade on the DL.

    Any update on Fisher?

He came back into the game after it appeared that he may have gotten hurt so, unless he got nicked up later in the game, I think he's good to go.

Yeah, it was good to see him come back in. Hopefully nothing to worry about as the season rolls on.
