Now is the time for all good fans to not give up hope. Considering that the Aggies easily beat Long Beach State down at the home, this should be a W at the Walter Pyramid to those who forgot our loss to Bakersfield. Speaking of Bakersfield, the Beach had lost 10 straight until they beat the Roadrunners on Saturday and can forget about Henderson. Since winning four of their first seen league games, the Beach has gone into a nose dive right into the sand. They can’t overlook the Beach just because they’ve been eliminated from the post-season. Like what happened with the Roadrunners, the Beach has a terrific scorer in Gavin Sykes who went for 18 points in the earlier game, just below his season average. They needed every one of his 39 points against Bakersfield as they only won 88-87. Aggies are favored by 1.5.
We are only 1.5 point favorites - I hope that’s not an indication about our health going into tonight. If we are down 3 guys (Cooper, Stokes and Omer), we’re not going to be on a roll heading to Henderson.
the odds sites are really 'interesting'. several seem to have us as something like 53-55% chance of winning, but something called SportsGrid has a model with us as 79% chance of winning by 13!
thankfully Omer is playing; he's keeping us in the game. didn't recognize Chappell at first with the new do. Sevilla has been battling leg injuries all year. Maybe we are playing it safe since there's not much gain with wins this week.
nobody looks like they want to take a shot from outside the paint. i don't think ESPN has this in mind when they moved us to the ESPN2 game on Saturday!
why do we come out with 50 seconds left on offense with Rowlins and Franklin on the floor and Wilson sitting? Mind boggling. I can see sitting WIlson on defense (2 fouls) but offense?
lucked out on the goal-tend after a horrible last possession for the beach....34-31 at the half.
we can't possibly play worse; not sure they can play any better.
We're definitely lucky to be down only 3. D giving up too many points in the paint on lay-ups and dunks. At the other end, there's no one filling the gap made by Sevilla's absence. Daughtery is 1 for 6 from deep. Hope he finds the range in the second haf.
considering we are down 3 of our top 6 players, maybe its as good as we could expect? we have 5 guys with 2 fouls so i expect they will keep pushing inside. we can't afford any cheap fouls.
what can they discuss on the elbow into Omer's face? that was blatent. we're obviously not getting the flagrent 1 on them, and got a foul for a face to the elbow.
