A lot of people are excited about the team, as the team has had recent success and will soon move to FBS. As a young alumni (26) there are various things that I view the athletic department needs to do to get younger people more interested in the team. One of the things I am going to talk about is the football uniforms. I think the uniforms need some updates to make Davis look like a serious football program. (I used Gemini for the photos so everything isn’t exactly how I want it). I would very much like to make this a reality so if someone can contact the Athletic department or have a contact please let me know.

    First, the helmets.

Starting with the gold helmet, I would update to a white facemask from gray. Everything else should stay the same.

For the blue helmet, I would change the face mask to white. Also the logo would be the script Davis logo. (I very much dislike the CA logo)

For the white helmet, the face mask should be changed to gold. The logo should be a gold Davis script logo.

    Next, the Jerseys.

For the home uniforms, the numbers and UC Davis should be gold with a white outline. The gold pants should be the same color as the helmet. Examples below.

The road uniforms should be gold numbers with a blue outline.

The football uniforms should have nameplates of the players names.

Finally, for the football field, the CA logo should be replaced with a gold Davis script.

I also thought that adding block numbers could be cool too. gard7cpmac9xbmam.png

I don’t mind the CA logo - better than the old logo and it allows the Davis script to be an alternate which I like.

I also had felt that the numbers and script need an outline on the uniforms themselves. Something to help make it pop.

I also love that we use different combos each game. That should stay.

I like the facemask change so long as players don’t find the new color distracting.

my main gripe with the current uniforms are that there are no gold on the jerseys. The school colors are blue and gold not blue and white. I think the block gold numbers with the white/ blue number shadows would take the uniforms to the next level.

CA logo should never go away. I absolutely love it.

The Davis script is nice, but too generic in my opinion.

Teams need a logo for a lot of uses and the CA logo is a good one and it ties to our nick name of Aggies and script Davis doesn’t.
Put the script Davis on the uniforms in place of UC Davis, drop UC, it puts the school at the bottom of alphabetical lists. Everyone claims to be a university but they don’t all squeeze it into their name. Just redundant.

The greys were awesome. I don’t understand the hate…

I'll be honest, I really didn't care for the greys either. Just nothing about them felt like Davis to me.

UCLA was branded when there was still a distinction between a college and a university. Now university in the label says nothing, it’s a waste of space. The CA logo conveys both California and Aggies. Davis should be the name of the school. Like Cal, Stanford. And the majority of schools that are known by their place name.or single word.

The uniforms have come a long way since the 2000s-2010s. Glad we ditched the arena football horse logo. The Heritage CA is the best. Davis script is cool too.

I'm a fan of no-name on the jersey. I know OP is a younger alum but us old fogeys know that it's a Davis thing / traditional college football thing to NOT have the names on the jerseys. Coach Plough went back to those ways when he took over. I remember when I was in football in high school, the first day of practice, our coach told us he didn't want any GDIs...

    "Coach, what's a GDI?"

    "God Damn Individuals!"
