There are evil, industrial-scale crimes being committed against mainly young GIRLS and women that the collective West ignores, or tacitly supports. I guess Hopkins doesn't ignore reality.

A friend went to Europe for the Olympics, loved it.

My parents are almost done with a month in Italy and Croatia and have been having a great time.

My wife and I have been in Paris for nearly 3 weeks now and we're staying in an area that I would say is mostly a middle and working class neighborhood. The ethnic diversity here is impressive also and that is reflected in the wide array of small, culturally diverse restaurants and shops everywhere. We can "eat our way around the world" within walking distance from our apartment. It's a busy, bustling, beautiful city and we have never felt unsafe for one minute here and we're right here mixed in with the locals and not at some exclusive hotel or neighborhood.

We attended the Paris No Kings protest rally yesterday along with about 700-1000 other Americans and Parisians and it was well organized with excellent speakers and singers. It was actually quite emotional when everyone sang the American National Anthem together in solidarity with many Parisians.

There is a far right movement in France just like there is in many countries around the world currently but, from our experience here so far, I can tell you that the vast majority of the French people are shocked by what they see happening in America and are worried about how it may affect them and the world if it continues to grow unchecked.

Regardless, we have felt safe and welcomed here and would encourage anyone who would wants to experience this magnificent city to go ahead and do so. We love it here.

“We do not have to live like this”. Is this a question or a statement? I assume it refers to the issue of gun violence etc. Anyway, The answer is a resounding no. But bare in mind that even giving account for these atrocities in Australia and Canada Europe, and elsewhere, we, America, the MAGA capital of the world, still have the highest rate of gun violence in the world by a significant margin and we are doing nothing about it. Except for a very few states, including California, New York Massachusetts, etc included. And yet these states are being derided and ridiculed by the Republican Party, and right wing media as too woke and “liberal” purely for political reasons by MAGA gun rights proponents. Yet they do nothing about this: question/statement: “we do not have to live like this”.
Lastly, although I welcome any criticism of this post, I think we should delete this thread because it has strayed too far from the original comment regarding an Aggie going to Europe on vacation. Which I think he survived! I posted this simply for balance on the topic.
