All I know is I'm bringing the fire pit and master grill. Tail gate is going to be a lot of fun!

“ Offer up some free pizza for the students to ensure they show up in force and raise hell this Saturday.”
They actually did that one year, maybe 10 years ago? BTW, welcome to the forum!

or literally give out ANYTHING like we have done for most home games this year. I dont know if the university thinks slapping the words "FCS PLAYOFFS" onto things makes them think students will come out (which personally I feel like the students as I have stated before, don't really understand how FCS vs FBS vs FCS Playoffs vs bowl games works and it makes it confusing of how important things are). Give out some more blankets or something!!! its gonna be chilly!

Retail price at Domino's: $4050 to give a slice of pizza each to 3,660 students

There's also power in free tee shirts and tickets as well. No reason the Athletic Department can't buy and offer a bunch of free seats.

if someone ordered 460 pizzas, that is mad rewards points, they’d be eating free themselves for a year lol. Given the cold temps, if they aren’t concerned about concession revenue they could offer free hot chocolate, hot coffee, and DC late nite cookies. Those are all cheap and easy to execute in bulk quantity in the time available.

    Costco pizza? $10 pie.

one time, we had a bust for an employee appreciation event so we ran to Costco for pizza, churros, and water for 500. They loaded on pallets and forked it into the truck without blinking lol.

Perhaps they could give out free hot cocoa and mugs like this?

LOL. With advanced warning, couldn't the nearby DC make pies? We could also bring back the Bonfire ...

don’t tease me with the bonfire! That used to be so much fun. Pies might be hard to schedule the labor at this point. Pizza and cookies are achievable though. For hot beverages the catering department has these industrial brewers that take liquid coffee or chocolate concentrate and can fill about 5 gallons per minute. That was my campus job back in the day, sometimes getting a couple hundred gallons of (not great) coffee cranking in the morning.

I miss the bonfire - man, some magic happens out there at night...and I know they used it as a training exercise for UCDFD to work on controlled burns.

Ready to rock this Saturday night - got at least one more ticket sold. Trying to get some folks from Loomis to join us - some of them are involved in the TD Club at Del Oro. It's a long drive coming back to Loomis from a Davis night game, so we'll see.

I asked Flush at the lunch with coach yesterday how ticket sales were going. He said “good”, but we still had a ways to go.

If I were in the athletics dept marketing I'd market the game as a "study break and refuel session" from finals and give out some pizza and coffee

With a 7 pm game, feel like this will be a student-driven crowd. Late game for families and people out of the area to attend, but good time for a college crowd. Basketball (i think) has done a good job of getting students to "big games" . . . lets hope we have long lines when the gate opens at 6 pm.

The marketing team needs to start calling the radio stations in the Bay Area and let the Bay know there is a college playoff game happening this weekend. There are a ton of Aggies in the Bay.

Hay's in the barn at this point - either reach out happened or it didn't.

The game in Davis is more or less, outside of high school playoff games, the only football thing going on Saturday night.

.....and just in the East Bay Contra Costa County alone. 45 min. drive. I've mentioned my frustration with the lack of outreach in the 925 in the past on this board.

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties could pack Aggie Stadium with just recent alums by themselves.
