2 biggest stops of the game by far. I think every uncertainty before the season has exceed expectations (QB should be a freshman all American , Corner we should have another all American , Young Receivers have been pretty consistent and explosive, RB before injury was arguably our best group, complete new DL…list goes on, proud of the team.

    Wild stat:
Sac was 3 of 9 passing for 17 yards and an INT. This is a QB who’s had several 300 yard games. Aggie secondary took the passing game away completely.

Sac’s ground game was punishing. So much speed in the backfield, and big dudes up front. Nearly impossible to stop at times.

Monumental effort by the Aggie defense to hang-in over 65 attempts and 35 minutes on the field.

That might have been the worst quarterback I’ve ever seen

How quickly do talented Sac players start entering the portal w only 3 games booked for next year and no league affiliation? How long can AD Orr keep them?

Couldn’t find the video on YT. A post game interview with Jim Les, Rocko DeLuca, and some of the players (not a football press conference).

at the end of the video they cut to Marion press conference. Launched into a bunch of excuses including how all the players that had NFL scouts looking at them didn’t show up/ were hurt or one thing or another. Not a good look.

He turned out to be quite the whiner, didn't he? That has to b disappointing for Sac fans.

Great game by the O-line as well in pass protection.

Sac state lead the conference by far with 38 sacks
30 pass attempts by Pinnick, 1 sack. I was in the endzone, so hard to see a lot, but he definitely had a second or two longer to make a throw than last week. It was noticeable.

Overall, this felt like another game the Ags should have won by more points, but every Causeway is a dogfight.

Man when we were down 27-17, I thought for sure we'd be ruing those couple turnovers that cost us at least 10 points. The first one we gave them 7 points because of the return (maybe more since we had a 1st and 10 in Sac territory) and the second one we were at their 15 so we should have gotten 3 out of that at least.

Would just be nice to not be matched up in the second round with either of the Montana's or NDSt.

That being said, let's just win the home game next weekend and whatever happens from there is gravy.

Was this the first field storm at UC Davis health stadium?

No. When Bakari Grant caught that hail mary in the north endzone as the clock ran down, for a dramatic win over N. colorado the place went wild.

Bakari Grant game was a field storm. It was my first game to attend as a new Jr transfer student.

One of my all time favorite memories. Was in the front row of the Aggie Pack and so one of the first to jump down, not knowing if enough would follow for it to look cool or just a random handful of students

That victory was also sealed after a TD catch by #8.

It was really weird for me as a Cal fan. Same music and colors for the Ags but same team name for Northern Colorado.

Sac with 20 sacks now trails Montana (21) in conference game sacks. Tied for third are Davis and Idaho State with 18.

Before today I watched ZERO minutes of hornet football, but i heard alot about this innovative’GO-GO’ offense…..and we get a power run game out of the 40’s! 17 yards of passing? I don’t recall any wrinkle in the run game - just power between the tackles.

We’re so lucky we didn’t have to deal with injuries like them!

I found it interesting just how differently the two coaches talk about their injuries. When Plough talks about injuries, it’s framed as “our team is depleted, the total number of guys that we can dress being lower means it’s just harder for everyone collectively.”

When Marion talks about injuries, it’s framed as “we had this specific NFL guy, this specific NFL guy, this guy who was a starter at another school, etc. who is out and was going to be a difference maker for us.” At first glance it sounds like they’re talking about the same thing but it couldn’t be more different… Marion’s language has an individualized focus (e.g., we lost stars and their replacements just aren’t as good) and Plough’s has a collectivized one (e.g., the injuries overall have created adversity for our team as a whole).

I don’t think 31-27 was the only victory between our two programs this season.

Just re-watched the 4th quarter on TV. (hard to see from the North endzone).

What an epic defensive bend-don't-break defensive effort on a grinding 5+ minute drive to close it out.
    A classic.

Acia was a very unsung hero in Vargas’ absence (an NFL talent). Had some quality runs the past few weeks and gave Fisher some much needed rest. He got tossed in the fire and thrived!

I'm backed up at work so couldn't come out. I went to the game at Idaho though. This would have been a great game to attend.

My buddy Tony (who came out for the Montana game where we met) and I are thinking about going to MSU the next time we play there. I might talk him into coming out when we're at Eastern. I've never seen us beat them. I thought we were so close in that playoff game a few years back.

l think if Sac had the ability to get outside and out of bounds, they probably win. They had to burn timeouts and they seemed to be rushed at the end. Note to coach - the forward pass can be effective in getting the ball out to the outside.
