    Monster of a game!

HUGE game and potentially the last successive causeway classic. Not only big for 2 programs that are getting more attention than ever nationally, but both need the win. Even bigger of a game as a rivalry. Hoping for a huge crowd and a huge bounce back win at home.

Haven't been paying much attention to the playoff seeding scenarios. Is this a win and in game for both teams?

I think we are a really good matchup against this sac team. Obviously it will be a high stakes and 100% on each side endeavor but I believe we can pull it out. Would be a great way to move into the post season (and maybe just maybe get some folks back?)

How Sac's 2025 Season has played out:
    @ South Dakota State (7-4), L 3-20
    @ Nevada (2-8), L 17-20 (Sac should've actually won this game, Pick 6 late 4th, dumb)
    vs. Mercyhurst (5-6), W 49-28
    vs. Central Arkansas (3-8), W 45-16
    vs. Cal Poly (3-8), L 24-32
    @ Weber State (3-8), W 55-27
    vs. Northern Colorado (3-8), W 40-35
    vs. Montana (11-0), L 35-49
    @ Eastern (5-6), W 35-13
    @ Portland State (1-10), W 52-24
    vs. Idaho (4-7), W 23-20

    @ UC Davis

that Idaho one was just a goofy, downright bad situation. Def have improved in some ways but still think penalties are a big issue for sac. Run game has improved a ton

Causeway is always a must-win, but I think Davis is already in as a top-15 team with 7 (8) wins.

In 2023 Sac was a top-10 team, lost 2 of its last 3 games, of course the last game to Davis.
Still got in. Committee just can’t allow themselves to leave ranked teams out, and let unranked teams in (like Davis was). Davis won 3 in a row to end the season that year.

Potentially perfect reversal of the 2023 situation.

Sac goes on streaks in the games I’ve watched. They can go on a positive streak and make some big plays, then shoot themselves in the foot for several plays. Marion likes to roll the dice. I’ve been worried about this game for a while. But in reality i think we’re going to handle these guys with points to spare. 38-20 Ags.

Tubs' reaction to the @ Sac State game (they hated the officiating)

So Sac's tape shows a lot of team speed and a propensity to run the football, a lot - and strike downfield when the opportunity shows. Only threw it 18 times vs. Idaho, 11 times @ Portland State, 6 times @ Eastern - yet 32 times vs. Montana.

RB Rodney Hammond, the Pitt transfer, has been a beast all year, 1074 yards rushing on 166 attempts and 11 TDs, that's 6.5 ypc. We have to be keying on #2. QB #7 Cardell Williams is showing good signs of efficiency, completing his passes at a high clip, though not being asked to typically throw 25-30 times a game.

Last year was a shootout - this year could devolve into the same type of game, I'd like to think Davis has a solid gameplan and can shut down the run, but Sac has a lot of speed, a lot of talent, and they're going to get their chunk plays. Pinnick and the offensive line need to respond blow for blow...and Blue Force needs to get those turnovers - Marion is a dice roller, he will put the pressure on you and go for it.

For Sac, absolutely yes. For Davis, maybe. I think we should get in as the 4th Big Sky team with a loss, but it's not a lock.

A 7-5 Sac would have 0 ranked wins and 0 wins over a team with even a .500 record. They have no case to get in. Beat us, and they're the 3rd Big Sky team in (likely get picked over us and we get picked over NAU).

A 7-4 Davis, has as 21 point win over a likely ranked 8-4 Northern Arizona (assuming they beat 3-8 Weber this weekend) and a 16 point win over a likely 7-5 Southern Utah (if they beat a 2-9 team this weekend)

One game to keep an eye on is Youngstown St-Northern Iowa in the MVFC. For that conference, NDSt is in at (likely) 12-0. South Dakota doesn't play this weekend and is 8-4. Illinois St is in great shape at 8-3 with wins over South Dakota and SDSt. North Dakota plays South Dakota St. Both are 7-4. Winner is likely in. So that's four teams. Youngstown is 7-4 so a win would put them at 8-4. That's a team we'd be competing against on the bubble if we lose to Sac.

I'm sure there are others too.

The sac qb is really good at getting big chunks of yards if he gets the edge. When he’s contained he usually makes some bad decisions. And like Finn said, they overall have really good team speed. With all that said, I still see the Ags rolling these guys.

Rivalry game, big implications for both squads, I see it at -3.5.

Every Causeway is a toss up. Last year as a prime example.....and every D2 Aggie team that housed their D1 rival.

Just putting this out there, that the football gods are still holding our deposit from 2009 with the Chris Carter catch that was ruled not a catch. If this is fact the last Causeway, perhaps it is time for them to return our deposit, with interest.

Keys to this game are going to be Emotion and QB play...which in turn stems from OL/DL play.

I think the Aggies have a big advantage in motivation because it is seen as a rivalry game. The hired hands on J street have no context of the rivalry. To them, we might as well be any directional state school from a state they have never visited.

Especially if a lot of their guys are already thinking about their next transfer destination.

Man I'm too worked-up from what might have been in Bozeman and the crap call on the sideline that gave Sac that catch. Going to get a lift in and clear my head, I'll jump back in tomorrow or Wednesday once I settle down. Pray for me. Go Ags!
