Run the damn ball, it makes life so much easier. If it is Harper at QB, it makes his life easier, it opens the play action game, and, like Coach said, gives you the read option aspect of the offense. Harper ran it well the other day, and even had one or two nice ones after the cramps started.

The game notes don’t list Marquis Bell at CB. Josiah Allen is listed at that CB and as the backup at both safeties and nickel. DB has gone from the deepest level of the defense to the thinnest.
We had some other highly rated freshmen beside Colfield but i guess they have been injured. Trey Carr just got back for the last two games.

Best possible timing for Pinnick to be out- UNC and ISU.
ISU is 1-6 (I'm not giving them the W vs. Lincoln)

Aggies are going to have to control the clock with the ground game with all the injuries in the secondary.

JJ Craven, Jr. and Kam Totten, I believe. A lot of talented dudes waiting to get on the field.

“ campus update: the tvs in the memorial union and silo are all playing ads saying go to the game”
That’s awesome. Back in the day, they would have pep rally's on Fridays on the quad. Sochor would come out, the band would play, and the cheerleaders would lead a cheer. Do they ever do that anymore?

totally agree. In my view, given enough time Davis should excel in any conference with the academic draw and quality of person it attracts

“UC Davis is a pac-12 school, it’s a better campus than Wazzu, closer to cal” (paraphrase). Says it’s really unique for the big sky. Says Davis is a west coast Ivy League, sounds like he thinks Davis is that sleeping giant that could go FBS (basically says with the retention, culture, resources and facilities). Also comments on Davis wanting to use these advantages now to try and crush the FCS and get a national championship.

So proud of Cody. Really awesome he got to go back to Idaho and can build that program. Awesome hearing how much he loved the Davis staff and really paints a great picture of the school. His comment about not knowing how California handles covid and maybe having Caden be in a "14 day hotel room" if he had covid is a little goofy..

Can't have covid if you don't test for it.

Davis’ academic reputation is rare at the FCS level but less rare among FBS schools.
Davis objectively doesn’t have an academic edge over Cal, UCLA, Stanford, Washington, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Duke, North Carolina etc.

I believe the Ivy League is at the FCS level.

And they often compete with Davis in recruiting, more so than the Big Sky schools.

But we actually have student athletes in FB and MBB.

That’s happening with less and less frequency. The gap between the Big Sky and the Ivy is massive now for obvious reasons.

Cody doing his best to ensure he’s the guy if Plough moves on. ISU seems to have a functional microphone, multiple media types asking questions, and an unaffiliated primary sponsor. Hmmm.

A few freshmen on this year's team reportedly had Ivy offers, Dartmouth, Penn, Cornell, Princeton.
2 linebackers, 2 wide receivers, a tight end.
Not saying that is the major competitor , the Mountain West is.

I’m not sure I understand the comment about needing to stay 45 minutes away and California traffic? I think visiting teams used to often stay at the Hallmark Inn or the Best Western in Dixon but maybe times change.

Davis' academic reputation helps get the top Ivy players as grad transfers. Which is a great thing. Playing time is the difference maker for guys like Psyk when deciding between FBS schools riveraggie mentioned and Davis. Davis is in a good spot in that regard- hopefully that pipeline develops.

Almost all of the freshman have had Ivy offers for years. Offers are self reported. You put those on your resume to balance out the academic powerhouses like Utah State and New Mexico.
