As long as they're giving away awards to people who haven't done anything (yet), where are the awards for the people who've actually done something, like the concessions managers researching how much popcorn to purchase for the season openers ?
What kind of trophy do you get for a pre-season award ? Is it a guy carrying a football helmet and a calendar ?
Cue the indignant football fans seeking to educate me on how "they work damn hard in practice" for recognition of things they might accomplish.
Why don't they have pre-game awards as well for the guys who cleaned up their tables the best at the pre-game meals and who ate all their vegetables ? Eating all the veggies is an accomplishment, and it sets a good example for the children in attendance.
I don't believe they have, but large event organizers, especially when it comes to sports, don't really seem to care. You've already spent your money on your ticket and need to eat, so they have you trapped in a manner of speaking. I mean, what are you going to do-skip the game and go home ? They're pure evil. They can charge whatever they want and make you wait and wait while minimally-trained staff take 5+ minutes to enter an order.. There's not much incentive to do better because hunger makes people desperate enough to endure it. You can fight the vendors a bit by eating your main course elsewhere, but they'll still get you on snacks and drinks.
Regarding the transfers breaking out, there are six guys with significant division 1 starting experience who’ve all been productive players. If they can play to the level they’ve played elsewhere we are good.
I’m expecting a significant role for Carter Vargas. Plough said in the spring that Jordan Fisher and Vargas separated themselves from the other running backs, and Carter has more size. I think they will be running the ball enough to give two backs plenty of carries. Vargas was a late decommit from Nevada and had an offer from Boston College.
