    The 2025 recruiting class isn't even fully in the books yet, but the coaching staff has already put out a couple of offers on the class of 2026 so I figured might as well get the next thread started.

    QB AJ Stowers threw for 3300 yards and nearly 40 TDs last season on a 67% completion. He additionally added over 200 yards on the ground.

    WR Jameson Powell had over 1000 yards receiving with 17 TDs last season for Folsom. He already has double digit FBS offers. We offered him a year ago.

    I think someone mentioned in the previous recruiting thread that one of our QB commits in the 2025 is potentially going on a LDS mission. Plough has also exclusively recruited athletic QBs so it wouldn't surprise me is one or more makes a transition out of QB.

    I was looking at our recruiting over on 247 Sports and I saw that we had made a couple of offers for 2026. The major programs start offering kids early in high school. I'm sure we'll need to start offering earlier than we normally have in order to keep pace with the new world of college recruiting..

    Marion Brennan at Sac is continuing his recruiting rampage. Not only has he secured a ton of transfers for next year but he also has already made 49 offers for 2026 that includes one commit plus 13 offers out for 2027.

    Yep, we definitely need to up our recruiting efforts if we plan on going FBS in the next 5 years. It's going to take resources to make that happen though.

    Looks like we're back to putting some offers out

    WR/DB Taveon Patterson out of Hanford was a 1000 yard receiver as a junior and DL/TE Corbin Wade had 64 tackles and 7 sacks as a junior. GO AGS!

    Also of note, AJ Stowers has transferred to play his final year of high school football in Hawaii

    Have we done that before? Is it common practice that schools continue to give offers to players who have publicly committed to another school? I wonder if Davis may have privately reached out or has let it be known in some way that he's still open to options?

    I know that many of us Aggie fans have wondered at times if our academic requirements hamper our ability to compete for athletes when compared to the lower standards of so many schools. So it's great to see that Jeremiah Nonu has a 4.0 GPA and added "STUDENT before an Athlete" in his tweet about getting a scholarship offer from us. Plough has said that he uses our academic requirements as a positive when recruiting and that it helps the coaches narrow the field so they can focus on those athletes who have done well academically and truly value their college education as much if not more than their sport.

    I actually asked him at one of the luncheons about the our gpa requirements for recruiting, compared to other schools. As I recall, it was a 3.0 (i assume its a UC requirement) compared to 2.5 at other schools. One attendee, not Plough, said the nearby school can get any warm body admitted regardless of gpa, lol.

    I don't recall us doing that in the past, however, it's not uncommon at the FBS level. I'm out in SEC country and you see players getting offers all the time after committing.

    In these days of player movement between schools, recruiting students who value a degree will lead to more stability of the roster. Transferring usually comes at some cost in progress to a degree. With the COVID bonus year phasing out, players don’t have as much time in school.
