I think we certainly have a good class coming in, best class ever is still to be determined. I'm particularly excited about the LB and DB talent coming in. With the number of holes on the roster, I wouldn't be surprised to see freshmen playing this next season.

BOOM! We have a punter! Tyler Hughes commits to the Ags! Chris Sailer has him rated as his 11th best punter in the country (of those that they track).

Sailer runs a strong camp - if he says Hughes has an elite leg, he does.

Signings should start coming in bright and early tomorrow morning. I will be at work, but will try to update the list when I can.

This is the best class I've ever seen at Davis. Super excited to see these kids on the field. Well done Aggie staff!

Since I don't have an eye to tell if a class is good or not, can someone please explain their analysis why this class would be considered good?

    Much appreciated in advance!

It’s great to see us secure a three-star recruit in JJ Cravin Jr., Freshman, Defensive Back from Chaparral High in Murrieta, California.

I believe Chaparral High in Temecula. Attended by OL Souriolle, DL Jake Williams, and attended for a few years by WR Dobbins.

Class good for the reasons of number of recruits, recruit ratings, other schools competing for these players, and needs addressed.
It is about twice the size of a typical class here.
It has somewhere around 16 three star recruits, most had other D1 offers some including FBS offers
Transfers address a need, because we only had 2 starters returning on defense. Now we have two All Ivy defensive linemen, along with a JC player, a transfer linebacker from Cal who saw action there, and a selection of DBs with experience at various levels from FBS major conference to FCS playoff teams, to Div 3.

I've seen a few posts noting that Sac State has the some of the highest rated recruits overall ever for an FCS program and the highest rated transfer class ever in the FCS.

And that's a wrap! On to the 2026 thread!

Thanks for the help and contributions to the 2025 thread!

    GO AGS!

Hey, thanks CAF! This is always one of the most anticipated and popular topics on our forum. I'm looking forward to 2026.

I'd still probably compile it even if no one else was interested, but I'm glad that it generates some discussion!

Even sweeter that JJ Craven backed out of a commitment to Idaho, where he js still listed on 247. He was one of their top recruits, but de-committed at end of December. 247 still lists him with the Vandals, so our class ranking by them underrates our class.

    How many new winter commits?

What are you looking at in regards to NAU?
    247 seems pretty average.

Recruiting is like getting your ingredients together for a meal. And it is good to get the best you can. But any good chef will tell you it is how you put them all together for the best meal is what actually matters. I don’t think there are any rankings out there that judge that part of the equation. I am fairly confident that we have a good staff in place to handle this situation well . but all in all, a very good bunch of recruits for our coaches to work with next season.

Well we added 2 scholarship players in Cravin and Ikegbu. PWO signees don't get announced by the school so I moved our known commits to the PWO, but we'll find out more when the fall roster comes out.

I was really hoping that we would have landed a productive WR transfer because I won't lie and say I don't have concerns about the receiver corps as it stands. We're bringing in a lot of freshmen and a JUCO transfer in Streets, but our returning production is... slim.

    Gbatu - 779 yards, 7 TDs
    Dobbins - 154 yards

That's it. I'm not saying that the other guys on the roster can't get the job done, but we lost a TON of offensive production and I'm not sure we did enough to fill the gaps for this next season. Different story for the future.

The 247sports rankings make no sense.
According to them on HS commitments we have 17 3 star commits , with one 3 star being a walkon; Davis then add nine transfers, including two FBS DBs, one FCS DB from a playoff team, and a D3 all american DB, two all Ivy DT, a linebacker from Cal.

NAU has ten 3 stars, none of which are ranked better than Davis’ top recruits, and NAU is credited with one two star IOL transfer,

I think offensive line is the biggest void in the recruit class
They lose both starting tackles, a sometimes starter at guard, have another guard with a knee injuy, and bring in one guy.

Last night at the signing party Coach commented about both lines. I think our lines are going to look better when the dust settles, possibly from anticipated walk ons? BTW, last night i asked him about clarifying the difference between PWO and walk ons. No difference, a walk on is a walk on.

I really like our LB and DB class. These guys could easily be our strength in a couple years.

Is there anything more you can tell us about what Plough had to say at the signing party?

The last couple of years we’ve had late transfers,
I think the defensive line is going to be fine . We have both heavy nose guard types and some rush guys. Won’t be as big as Toki and Maae, but some big mobile guys. We return some of our better pass rushers.

Rocko opened it up and talked about how lucky we were to have Tim and that he wants to be sure we have the resources that are needed to retain our coaching talent. Tim introduced all the coaches and briefly talked about their attributes. He went over many of the new recruits, most of which are from CA. As he has done in the past, he compared resources that the top FCS schools have to ours and the need for deeper levels of support. Paraphrasing here, but he said something like “give me comparable resources, make it a fair fight, and we will win.” The luncheons with the ball coach resumes 2/19 monthly. Always a fun informal event. I try to attend.
