Aggies win! That was UGLY! Coach Coombs needs to do a lot of film analysis this week because this was a disappointing defensive performance after the last 2 performances.
That penalty on the kickoff was huge. My radio feed was starting to lag big time so I just had Marsh on while biting my nails.
Davis escaped big time. This was our version of MSU except with us playing the role of the Bobcats. At this point I will not complain being the #5 seed as I think it is about where they stand.
Sac State played with more juice and emotion. It was just the mature steady play of most of the seniors that got the Ags the win. Sac Statextired on the fourth quarter and Ags O-line finally started opening some holes and all Lan needs is a little hole.
I think maybe the big win at Wa-Griz took some of the energy out of the team? Got a lot of press on that and these are still young guys even if seniors.
Someone needs to have a talk with Simpson. He plays aggressively which is good before the whistle. I have seen him clock defenders after the play before. Got to keep that in check. No trash talking either. That should not be in the culture.
This wasn't the case today but I always wonder if a bad team ever says f* it, let's practice for our rival instead of some random directional school they play the week before. No coach would ever admit to it, but I'm sure it's happened before.
Ok, I watched the all the replays they had of that TD catch several times. At first I thought his left heel was out but you have to put the replay in slow motion to see the exact instant where he caught the ball and then stop the action to see that his right toe appears to be down for a fraction of a second and just before his left heel touches down out of bounds. I think it was a legitimate TD. There certainly was not enough evidence to change the call.
