The University of Washington completed their final season in the Pac-12 a disappointing 9-11, their third straight season of mediocrity. So they replaced Mike Hopkins with Danny Sprinkle who took Utah State to the NCAAs last year. With a new coach, it’s always hard to say how they will do, but they have an absolute beast in Great Osobor, who averaged 9 rebounds a game last year at Montana State. He is on the watch list for the Karl Malone power forward of the year. Other than him, they have7 new players as the result of transfers plus two freshmen. They replace 11 players lost to graduation or transfer. Only three players return (thank the transfer portal) who combined last year for 202 minutes of playing time and 8.3 points per game, almost all of this from 6’11” center Franck Kepnang.

On October 29, the Huskies defeated division2 Western Oregon in an exhibition game 105-68, so we know they can score. Given their size, this will test the Ags ability to hit the boards.
The game will be on the Big Ten Network. I presume it will not be on ESPN+.

Who plays a game on election night? I don't want to make this about politics but who goes to games on that day? It seems the sports trend is to avoid scheduling on those days at least for the NBA.

I don't think it is a good idea either.

I went to a Kings game on election night 2016. The last couple years the NBA hasn't scheduled a single game for election night though, and isn't having any games this year either.

As expected, the Huskies will have a huge height advantage. Their roster features 7 players over 6'8 including one at 6'11 and 2 at 6'10. Ten of the 16 players on their roster are transfers from other schools.

Speaking only for myself, I don't mind having the game on election night. It'll be a good distraction from what will be a tense day, to say nothing of the high probability that the election will not be decided until Wednesday, Thursday or who knows?

I love when we play big opponents. Do I wish we had one game before this, yes. Our non conference schedule has more big names than previous years.

We're 13.5 point underdogs in Seattle.

I like our chances of keeping this one close. We have a pretty experienced roster so hopefully that helps against teams that are full of transfers.

I see they are telling us to watch on the big 10 network. But I also found it on the Fox app but when I looked at the Big10 network I didn't see it there.

Lots of the popular cable companies and YouTube TV carry the Big 10 Network. I have YouTube TV and they are showing that they will have the Aggie game.

I'm not a fan of having any games on Election Day but it does me a reason to stop watching the returns which will probably be less stressful for me than the game will be! Go Ags!!

I just discovered that my streaming service does not carry the Big Ten Network, so I'll have to follow the game via the internet. Nuts!

Before you throw in the towel try doing a search. I couldn’t find the game, did a search, and it popped up. You can also stream it from the uc davis site. Go to the schedule and click the video link.

Jdur steered me to Fox Sports online where I found the broadcast. Aggies holding their own so far! Solid defense and drawing a lot of fouls on offense.

I think Oldbanduhalum called it right: the Ags experience helped them away and against a bigger team of transfers. Anyone miss Eli Pepper? Without him, no one is scoring much besides TY. Even with Eli, this was often a problem last year as I recall, with no one to pick up the offense besides TY and Eli, except for an occasional burst from Kane Manning. Wish I had been able to watch the end, but the box score reveals two concerns: UCD had only 6 assists and went 6 of 27 from 3. On the positive side, they made 80% of their foul shots and held their own on the boards.

    Things we knew

    1) TY will be our guy
    2) our D will be awesome

    The questions we had
    1) who is going to be a number two to take pressure off of TY. After one game that is a BIG question mark.
    2) we need a 3rd guy who can put up 10-15 and we need 1-2 guys who can light it up from 3. Also a question mark with kane gone.

    Observation:
    1) we looked horrendous against the zone. What happened to Nico playing the spot at the free throw line to break it?

I worry that if TY can’t get support, he will start to force up shots and that will lead to the lack of assists. He’s a stud and we are lucky he stayed. We need support for him.

Doubling down and where is borra and mani? I think we could have used them tonight!

Any idea why we haven’t seen Marsalis Roberson, nils cooper, or Derek Sangster?

I think SoCal Aggie was spot on. Leo can probably fill that 3rd or 4th scorer on most nights, but it’d be nice to have the 2nd scorer be a wing. Someone who isn’t to reliant on outside shooting. The announcers mentioned that the Ags were short handed so I imagine Bora, Mani(who I thought I saw on the bench) and several of the newcomers were injured. Hopefully nothing too bad. Chappelle looks like a really nice find. He may have forced a few shots, but the stage didn’t seem too big for a freshman. On to Moscow.

I liked how the Ags just kept fighting and stayed in the game right down to the finish. It wasn't a pretty game by either team. It was a physical, blue collar type of game and I liked that the Ags didn't back down. The Huskies had some big bruisers in the paint but they only out rebounded us 44-42. Rocak had 11 boards and Losé had 10. Rocak also had 3 blocks against their bigs.

Our true freshman, Isaiah Chappell, looks very talented and he has a beautiful 3 point shot. However, we won't win many games shooting 6-27 as a team from outside the arc.

Washington's Great Osobor, allegedly making $2.2 million in NIL money, led the Huskies with 15 points, 17 rebounds, six steals, three assists and two blocks.

Can you imagine how much UW or some other school could have offered to pay TY if he had chosen to transfer? We're so lucky to have him here for his last year and it says a whole lot about the kind of "family culture" and loyalty that Jim Les and his staff have built here.

I thought it was interesting that they were setting Niko up for the 3. I don’t think any dropped, but maybe his 3 has improved in practice?
