My amateur eyes say Fisher hits the hole faster, runs harder, and is faster. WHY have we buried him on the bench?! Now averaging over 10 yards a carry.
There's this guy named Lan Larison. Now, Perez, he's a senior and does a lot of things on the offense, not just running the ball, but he blocks his butt off...so I think they want three full years of Fisher? Is that where we're at with Fish?
Valuable reps burning right now...good for all these underclassmen, just remember, shutouts don't matter next week when it's 25 degrees in the 4th quarter, and every Griz fan in Western Montana is screaming their lungs out.
Cody and Plough both moved to Northern Arizona after Biggs retired, with Cody moving to College of Idaho in 2016. Cody returned to Davis and briefly overlapped with Plough in the Covid era, but no football was played. Cody was going to be the tight end coach until Plough and Keane left, after which he took over Keane’s offensive line responsibilities.
Larison: 14 carries for 143 yards and 3 TD's = 10.2 avg.
Fisher: 5 rushes for 43 yards = 8.4 avg.
Rasor: 2 for 37.
Vargas: 2 for 27 and 1 TD.
Hastings: 20-26 for 285 yards and 3 TD's.
313 yards total passing from 3 QB's..
10 players caught passes.
Gbatu: 5 receptions for 78 yards and 1 TD.
Gale: 3 receptions for 76 and 1 TD.
Tompkins: 5 receptions for 57 and 1 TD.
Williams: 2 receptions for 32 and 1 TD.
It's a long ways off but the GFS weather model says the Montana State game may be played during an AR. Attendance might suffer. But maybe the ground game with Larrison could negate any Montana State talent advantage.
I think you want a dry, non-windy game. Aggie passing game is much more dynamic than Montana State’s. Their strength is the running game so poorer conditions would fit their game better.
Looking forward to the next two weeks. Time to see what this team really has. The win over Idaho was a good one, but at Montana and home to Montana St are a step up (Montana specifically because it’s on the road).
