Western Carolina (future opponent of Montana) plays NC State tonight with temp at kickoff in upper 80s and dewpoint of 72 (ugly). Western just missed the playoffs last year and supposedly has a very good qb. State will most likely handle them quite easily but I will check it out on TV (ACC network).
Listened to the last half of the Spartan-Hornet game. It was competitive till it wasn't. Not sure if the Hornets were tired, or what but the Spartans just put the game away at the end. Still the game was competitive and Sac state I believe will be a very tough game for us to win.
Bennett makes some bad decisions and seems to be somewhat of a head case at times that partially, at least, negates his upside. Sac’s defensive backfield seemed to be their weak spot in this game.
San Jose had 57 returning players, second lowest in FBS. Basically new coach had to replace 1/2 the roster. Only 2 returning defensive starters, and uncertain QB spot - they were ripe for the picking!
TCU kept Stanford in the game with unnecessary penalties, especially during the first half. Taylor’s play calling didn’t fool TCU at all. He’s not looking like an offensive “genius” at this level.
TCU was so undisciplined and, even though they had 100 yards in penalties, I actually think the officiating crew could have called even more especially on some questionable pass interference no calls. I can't imagine an Aggie team ever that many unsportsmanship and roughing penalties.
Anybody watch the Abilene Christian vs Texas Tech game. ACU (FCS united conference) took Tech into overtime at 45-45. ACUs QB looked really good but of course they gave up a lot of points.
I didn't see the game but I read where TT scored first in overtime and then Abilene Christian scored but went for the win with a 2 point conversion try and failed. Tough loss for AC.
Idaho looks to have a heckva team this year but wow their first month is pretty tough. Next week they play @ Wyoming, then vs Albany who beat them in the FCS playoffs (and won in WK1), then @ Abliene before they come to Davis. Could be a scary game for the Ags.
