Rather than create a new thread every week for the Big Sky round up, let's just keep this thread ongoing. Here's the Idaho tape @ Lamar --- Wally the Bronco Too comes through again. Idaho absolutely dominated, it was 35-0 with 5 min. left in the 3rd Quarter.
Aggies 48 TAMC 10
Sac State 38 Nicholls State 24
Weber State 35 Central Washington 10
Abilene Christian 31 Northern Colorado 11
Idaho 42 Lamar 17
Montana 35 Butler 20
Oregon 81 Portland State 7
North Dakota State 35 Eastern Washington 10
Cal Poly 27 San Diego 10
Montana State 63 Utah Tech 20
Arizona 38 Northern Arizona 3
San Diego State 36 Idaho State 28
Nice to see Cal Poly playing better these days.
I'm going to miss having a team on the schedule that doesn't play offense like every other team on the planet, though.
Big Sky Week 2 Schedule Pacific Time on Saturday 9/9:
Northern Arizona (0-1) at North Dakota (1-0) 12 pm
Portland State (0-1) at Wyoming (1-0) 1 pm

Incarnate Word (0-1) at Northern Colorado (0-1) 1 pm
Weber State (1-0) at Northern Iowa (0-1) 2 pm
Montana State (1-0) at South Dakota State (1-0) 4 pm
Idaho (1-0) at Nevada (0-1) 4 pm
Idaho State (0-1) at Utah State (0-1) 5 pm
Eastern Washington (0-1) at Fresno State (1-0) 6 pm
Montana (1-0) at Utah Tech (0-1) 6 pm
Aggies (1-0) at #18 Oregon State (1-0) 6 pm
TAMC (0-1) at Sac State (1-0) 7 pm
That EWU game at Fresno is exclusive to Spanish Language TV. Honestly English or Spanish, as long as the game is televised or available on radio it shouldn't matter. Wish there was enough interest for Davis to do that or something akin to Sac's tv deal.
I'm curious to see how Northern Colorado does against Incarnate Word.I think they probably lose. Planning to see them at Wazzu in Wk 3.
Poor PSU. I'm glad the Ags have recently only played one FBS per season. Two was good for the money but bad for playoff chances esp when you play in the difficult Big Sky.
How did Utah Tech get Montana to come to St George...and why?
TAMC will be like DII vs Sac. If the Ags beat them that badly in Texas, no chance at Sac.
Montana state at SD State is likely the FCS game of the week.
Impressed with Butler, they came to play, but Montana just bigger and faster. Montana QB had a bad pick, but Griz ran it effectively and were in the Butler QB's face all day. Butler QB and his receivers were playing at a video game level, made some crazy plays.
San Jose State up 17-0 end of first quarter. Poly 3 turnovers. Huard has an arm but makes some poor decisions. SJSU just scored a TD at first of 2nd quarter. This is going to be a blood bath.
Excluding this game, Cal Poly's first few games are laughable. They had a game with San Diego (non schollie), Lincoln (they are based in Oakland but don't really have a home field and are NAIA. I'm from Oakland but only know of them because they play FCS teams).
Portland State doesn't look very good so far.
Then they play the Ags in SLO. 3-1 could certainly motivate the players and fans to show up big. Could be a trap game for Davis. Then after that their schedule becomes brutal with the exception of a game with Northern Colorado. After the Golden Horseshoe they play Idaho (who looks pretty good), @MSU (no way they win that game), UNC at home (should win), likely road loses @EWU & @SAC. EWU is too early to tell and they played NDSU last week and FBS Fresno (really good team) but November up here in EWA can be really cold. Lastly,Weber is always a pretty decent team even away from Utah. They lucked out in not playing Montana but they play all of the tough teams otherwise.
This isn’t big sky, but the biggest surprise of the day - granted just the first half with 2:27 to go in first half -is Austin Peay 6 Tennessee 6. Austin Peay has out executed Tennessee despite being decidedly lacking in the physical matchup. Austin Peay is not even picked to win or place high on their league. Don’t expect this to last.
CP had Central Washington on the schedule for next week and they pulled out late and left CP scrambling to complete their schedule. I believe it was Lincoln or nobody.
San Jose State 59 Cal Poly 3 - Final
Wyoming 31 Portland State 17 - Final
Incarnate Word 42 Northern Colorado 7 - Final
North Dakota 34 Northern Arizona 22 - Final
Weber Stater 37 Northern Iowa 17 - Final
Montana State 10 South Dakota State 0 at the half
Idaho 14 Nevada 3 with 10:20 to go in the 2nd
Idaho State 7 Utah State 7 with 9:45 to go in the 1st
