last two games were the biggest margins (38-24 down there in 2010, and 31-3 here in 2011). we've always been able to score points against them. the loss down there was a very depressing night. played a lazy game and they took advantage of our mistakes and made many good plays. the results ALMOST ruined our trip to San Diego. ALMOST.
Jeez!!!...what's with the Aggies marketing machine? I couldn't find anything on tonight's coaching show at the designated site(s)...saw a few pics on Twitter...and nothing anywhere about this upcoming game...soooo
At the risk of sounding like an arm chair coach...
I noticed in the SDSU game the the CBs covering Doss were giving him 7-10 yard cushion. I kept wondering if the coaches in box saw that and if so why not have Doss sprint toward the corner to move him off his spot then stop and turn around to catch an easy 5 yard gain.
Then its 2nd & 5 with two more downs to get 5 additional yards. Could have done this all afternoon until SDSU made an adjustment. It's not sexy but it moves the ball down the field!
I know Hawk wants to be vague, but as a fan it's kind of frustrating when the depth chart listed doesn't mean anything because it has 4 players for each position as the possible starter.
I like the seeing 4 deep. We can guess the starters from last week, along with top subs. I thought we had moved away from fullbacks though. The frosh fullback seems to be quite athletic judging from his profile. Maybe he didn't make the trip to San Diego ?
"AGGIES over SAN DIEGO … the “other” San Diego has had tremendous recent success in the Pioneer League, which in no way, shape or form can be compared to the Big Sky. However, the Toreros are a feisty bunch and capable of ruining UCD’s home opener. Take the Ags by 14."
Dunning was 54-5 overall in his picks last week. Things get tougher for him this week now that most of the body bag games are over.
Yep, defense is going to have to be on top of their game. With their size they should be able to make some decent holes for their run game. Our defensive backfield is one of the more veteran groups we have so hopefully they can lock down their receivers. If there's one place I think we will be able to take advantage of them is the matchup between our receivers and their DBs. Their pass defense looked particularly weak against Western New Mexico.
Seems like a perfect balance between the classic branding and modern look.
Also, I don't know how well this might have been visible on the broadcast last week, but those helmets are really shiny. It's almost like they never get put on the ground.
I'm listening to the separate audio stream via TuneIn. It is about a minute ahead of the video. But I just got kicked out of the video stream. Now says it will start at 6:15 ?? But then again from where I'm listening I've got Hurricane Irma looking straight at me, so my internet may be iffy.
