First round playoff schedule and TV coverage for Saturday, November 26:
Elon at Furman 10 a.m. ESPN+
St Francis (PA) at Delaware 11 a.m. ESPN+
Fordham at New Hampshire 11 a.m. ESPN+
Davidson at Richmond 11 a.m. ESPN+
North Dakota at Weber State 1 p.m. ESPN+
Gardner-Webb at Eastern Kentucky 2 p.m. ESPN+
Idaho at Southeastern Louisiana 4 p.m. ESPN+
Southeast Missouri State at Montana 7 p.m. ESPN2
Montana not only got in with a home game, they got a nationally televised ESPN2 game to boot.
Delaware lost 4 of their last 6 games and got selected with a home game as too. The selection committee says they take into account how a team is currently playing as well...yeah right!
Furman goes on. From what I watched Elon looked impotent. The only offense they could seem to muster was their QB scrambling. Elon’s QB is Matt McKay ex. Montana St. ex. NC State QB.
Delaware crushes St. Francis (Delaware didn’t deserve such an easy opponent (Northeastern conference is very weak and always 1 and done)
Davidson crushed (another non-starter auto-bid in playoffs)
Fordham out of Patriot League has 0 defense - kept it numerically close against New Hampshire with offense. New Hampshire gets another Patriot League team in Holy Cross next week.
Weber dominating North Dakota - another team I don’t think deserved getting into playoffs.
Man, it is hard watching these games with teams obviously inferior to UCD.
At some point we have to win say 50% of games vs solid teams to be a contender. We're right there. In 82, we beat a dominant NDSU team that was 12-0 with Ken O'Brien injured.
