Florida A&M did in fact play in the playoffs this year.
Davis played Bethune Cookman in a D-II playoff game in 1977.
And as I recall there was a time when Tuskegee had to choose between the D-II playoffs and their traditional Turkey Day game agains Alabama A&M. Similarly Grambling and Southern play in their Bayou Classic on the Saturday after Thanksgiving which would conflict with the FCS playoffs.
Watched rerun. Noticed that sac OL never goes into the three point set. Just a standing crouch position. I have never seen that, but I am no expert. What’s the advantage?
That “trick play” has been used before and I believe by SDSU. The QB was overly melodramatic in his acting and I am sure Sac wasn’t fooled. Just very difficult to stop Davis and that O-line with only a half yard to go.
I’d be interested to know how they called the snap. While several of the Sac defenders were looking for the play, I think there was an element of distraction. It would be cool if the QB yelling at the sidelines actually called the snap, as the defenders watching for the trick play probably were trying to not pay attention to him.
Glad to finally see some actual ESPN games rather than ESPN+. Unfortunately, one of the two on ESPN2 is the North Dakota St game which is likely to be the worst game of the weekend.
i was looking at the previews of games for the high school championships. some of the records are bizarre. there are several teams with 6 losses, i think one with a 6-7 record, heading into the weekend. teams had lousy regular seasons (maybe a tough league, tough preseason) got into expanded playoff fields and then ran the table. probably too many divisions.
JMU controlling this game, they are getting calls though. If Montana loses this east coast trip, will be interesting to see if Hauck whines about officiating.
Humphrey out again, not shocked, guy's been hurt a lot.
Well Barriere finally graduates or runs out of eligibility, Montana QB situation not looking stellar, Montana State QB enters portal, and Davis Alexander done at Portland State. Change of guard and uncertainty at QB next year in Big Sky.
Watched it last night. David Shaw was there, apparently looking at Cathedral’s RB #7. That kid is tremendous. Some of those players have 25 FBS offers!
4th quarter and SDSU is up 35-21 on Villanova. Jacks are closing in on 250 rushing yards for the game. At least we got blown out by a team that is looking like they are on their way to at least the semi finals.
