I think Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN are all laughing at Californiagoldenblogs for the quality of their reporting.
That aside, IF the comments about the internal misworkings of the Cal athletic department are accurate, Cal is a mess and it's no wonder they have trouble with hiring and retaining coaches.
I grew up a Cal fan because both of my parents went there and I always expected to go to Berkeley, but when I was in high school I went to a Picnic Day event and decided that UCD was a better fit for me. I never regretted it and whenever the Ags played big brother UCB I always rooted for us. I hope Cal finds a really good coach (for a change) and I would like to think that Jim Les would be the guy, but even more, I hope Les stays at Davis. I agree with majority here and think that Cal is not likely to hire him, but if they make him offer, he will go.
This article is encouraging on two levels:
1. Bruce asked Les directly about his intentions and reported on it.
2. Sounds like Les is likely to stay, probably with a new contract.
That's a well written article by Gallaudet. Jim Les is a very principled man and I think he highly values the principles of UCD athletics. He has often expressed how much he and his family love the Sacramento area too. So it appears that he has found a place and a program that are very satisfying for him at this stage of his life and career.
