20-game home doubleheader schedule this year--no home/away schedules against any team to minimize travel. Looks like Davis gets Irvine and CSUN at home, which is nice, but has to travel to Hawaii and Riverside. Hawaii away date right before the tourney kinda sucks--motivation to get the bye games!
I saw that UH games right before the BWT too. I wonder if we go straight from Hawaii to Anaheim. Looking forward to see what the OOC schedule brings us. Go Ags!
I believe they're still finalizing that part of their schedule. Since fans will likely not be admitted to most, if not all,of the out-of-conference games it's not as crucial they be given advance notice.
I am disappointed that Hawaii is on the schedule at all. It ruins the bus-only schedule, and the women'ss team will have to fly there with regular people who can get them sick. Also, Hawaii has been one of the states that has intentionally made it more difficult for travellers to visit so it would be funny if the Rainbow Warriors were forced to sit at home and play against themselves, or they could fill their schedule with Hawaii Pacific, Chaminade, and Hawaii-Hilo.
I just saw an article in the Enterprise that says the Ags will be announcing their non-conference opponents soon and they will open with San Francisco in the Pavilion. Still, it's a bummer to lose 2 home conference games.
I happened to listen into it. Not a whole lot of info. Aggies are a machine, with the longest tenured coaching staff in D1. UCI is probably next, with CP being the "dark horse".
Sage got a nod as a player to watch, but yeah--"Davis is good; great staff" and not a lot of other in-depth coverage of individual Aggies. Team game!
Interesting that a couple teams lost players to P5 teams.
Regular season champ predictions: two for UCD, one for UCI
"Random" season predictions from the panel:
1) There will be a dunk in BW WBB.
2) A guard duo will drop 15 threes in a game.
3) Tamar Inouye will get her career BW record over 0.500.
My impression is that everyone gets an extra year of eligibility. But not sure how the scholarships work out, meaning the program would have to figure out how to spread the scholarship money between seniors with an extra year and incoming freshman. Just a guess though.
I thought that I read that NCAA had waived the scholarship limits. So just the schools have to come up with the n ew money for the extra year. Just my memory which is subject to some doubt these days.
The Ags were in negotiation with Santa Clara for a game in the second week of December but SC has had to quarantine for two weeks due to a Covid case. So the game may not be scheduled.
