we play the Spartans in 2020, along with Reno. I thought we had another FBS in 2021 but maybe not. Future schedules website shows Dixie State that year
And what a coup for our recruiters! So, you want to be able to tell your grandkids “I played against SC?” What a great endorsement for the program. WOW indeed!!!
After the terrible USC stories this year, I doubt that you will be USC shamed or bullied by this news. We are not totally squeaky clean but we are damn close. Hold your head high Z! But we do feel your pain. . .
Yahoo Sports - comment section hysterical. Can't recall my old Yahoo account.
USC schedules first-ever FCS opponent with game against UC Davis in 2021
"Per a school release, USC said it was because it couldn’t find an FBS opponent to come to Los Angeles and play that weekend. The addition of UC Davis fills out USC’s schedule for that season. In addition to nine Pac-12 games, the Trojans already had a game against BYU and the annual rivalry game against Notre Dame on the docket."
Paul Hackett was a HC at SC, Daryl Gross was an ass't A.D., Ken O'Brien was an ass't coach. SC fans hate Hackett...he was known a "He who shall not be named." Gross gets points for whatever he did to bring Pete Carroll on board, but subsequent hires fell flat. USC game program used to note that among the USC folks in some Hall of Fame or another was O'Brien.
(I would not be surprised to see some FBS school find an opening in their schedule and a willingness to travel to LA over Labor Day....and SC boosters find some spare money in their change pockets to buy out this contract.)
One USC fan board very unhappy. LA talk radio must be bonkers.
You heard it here first - USC's new president an Aggie! Carol Folt, PhD from UCD.
BTW, USC recently opened USC Village, which houses 2,700 students, one article said it is Hogwarts meets Disneyland, and the whole development cost $700 Million. Shopping, fitness center, plazas, parking garage, and tight security.
Yep, though I have a feeling they'll start to play a few matchups in the Rams/Chargers stadium each year when that's complete. I doubt we'll get one of those though
I think SC has some sort of financial interest in the Coliseum so it's $$ to them to play there. Could they match that at the NFL stadium?
Something I read indicated that USC made the decision because they needed a home game. If that's the case, they aren't going to pay extra to rent the Rose Bowl or Rams/Chargers stadium...
